^I seriously doubt that FIFA will be able to switch the WC dates to the winter months. This would mean the entire footballing community must agree to changing their domestic footballing scheduling all in an attempt for FIFA to accomodate Qatar 2022. Sepp is dreaming!!

Average temperatures in Qatar in July and August are 41 celcius. Unfortunately for that reason playing in Qatar during the summer months is impossible.

I don't disagree pdot jaan!! I'm simply stating that in order for FIFA to change the dates for the 2022 WC, they would need to gain approval from all the FIFA associated nations to adjust their respective domestic league schedules not to mention continental competitions will need coordination as well, and all this in an attempt to accommodate Qatar 2022. Ultimately they will likely keep the current scheduling, and 2022 WC will turn out to be one of the biggest fails where FIFA is concerned.

That's precisely why the tournament will be moved. People voted for qatar (if we believe the votes were genuine) based on them claiming they will host a World Cup in the summer in air conditioned stadiums covered by robot clouds. Now they are saying they will not do any of that, they are asking everyone to change their league schedule and to top it off their bribery has been exposed which they fully acknowledge although they say bim hammal did it on his own. I cannot expect to get paid for a bid I won to build a house if I end up just mowing your lawn instead.

Uefa president Michel Platini believes that Qatar could lose the 2022 World Cup but insists that there is no chance of Russia being stripped of the 2018 edition.

There have been widespread calls for Qatar to be removed as hosts due to allegations within the British press of irregularities in the voting process - as well as player welfare concerns arising from the Arab nation's scorching summer temperatures.

Platini says that if the corruption claims are substantiated, there will have to be a re-vote, while he also acknowledged that Qatar 2022 would also have to take place in winter.

However, the Uefa supremo is nonetheless standing by his decision to back Qatar's bid.

"I have not been identified by the British press as someone corrupt," he told beIN Sports. "If there is corruption, there must be a new vote.

"I defended the new territories. The Arab world has lost the tournament vote seven times in a row.

"So, it's a good thing to give the World Cup to Russia and Qatar, though I will advocate for the competition to be played in winter.

"I have no remorse over my vote but we'll see what happens."

Russia's staging of the 2018 tournament has also been thrown into doubt by the political instability in neighbouring Ukraine.

However, Platini has dismissed the possibility of Uefa urging Fifa to either take the World Cup away from Russia or organising a boycott among other European nations.

"We have a big problem now with the Crimea and if politicians can not settle the issues there, how can Uefa?" the Frenchman asked.

"So no, we cannot remove the World Cup from Russia or boycott it.

"The proof as to why? The boycott of Olympic Games of 1980 did not change anything.

"You cannot penalise the 100 million Russians who love football."

Lol, why?

I don't like the Qatar choice because of the politics and bribes behind it, but I like the idea of having it somewhere different.

I wouldn't mind another Asian or African host. Or even Central American. Something more exciting than a Western Euroasian country or the US. Even Canada would be cool.
