Firstly; what an incredible game. For 80 minutes we had well and truly shut Argentina down. Haghighi was just superb in goal and our defensive discipline was fantastic. A big middle finger to all those people who predicted a >3 goal deficit; Iran tangoed with the best and proved to be a worthy opponent.

You could see our boys broke Argentina in the 2nd half and gained the confidence to move forward; we had two huge opportunities to score and a penalty that wasn't allowed (Why a Serbian ref? And where was the yellow for ripping the flag out of the ground?). You could see though in the last 10 minutes the Argentinian goal was coming as we started to tire and started doing some desperate tackles.

But anyway; as I was saying to my friends tonight tonight a 1-0 loss is not materially worse than a 0-0 draw for our chances going into the last game. A -1 goal difference is fantastic we just have to hope that Argentina doesn't take it easy on Nigeria that is my only fear because if Nigeria and Bosnia draw they've got a guaranteed top spot in the group. I think we need to hope for a Bosnian victory against Nigeria by at least 2 goals to ensure that the Nigerians have an impossible task against Argentina and to ensure Argentina must play a full strength squad in the last game because Bosnia could still mathematically clinch the top spot.
