Not to be negative, but the blame of the messi goal must fall on nekounam. He lost the ball and he didn't close down Messi. If you look at the Messi goal Nekounam had the chance to take one step forward and Messi would not have had an angle to shoot.

If both teams win and lose 1-0, it will be a coin toss. From FIFA:

the good news is in case of win/lose, iran's situation can only improve in terms of GD:

For this to happens, we need to win (means min of +1) and Nigeria to lose (means min of -1). If we win better or if they lose by more, that would only improve the GD to our advantage. It can't get worse!

However, in terms of number of goals scored, it can still help Nigeria if they score against Argentina while losing and we win 1-0. That would put them through even lose of 2-1.

A tie would put Argentina in top of their group as well. No need to win. Tie would qualify both of them.

First of we played a hell of a good game, especially in the 2nd half. For anyone here who wants to play the blame game, a team wins together and loses together, it is absolute uncalled for , for anyone to blame a single player or a couple players for this lose, we played as well as we could have played.

And for people saying that it is over, look Argentina will most like not rest it start players against Nigeria, they will play with their main squad against them , Why you ask? Cause a Nigeria win will put Nigeria top and Argentina do not want to play France right now at all, they rather have Switzerland or Ecuador. So what can we Expect , we can expect that Argentina will play hard and go for the win.

This leaves us with the delightful chance of if we beat Bosnia, we could go as the 2nd place team , It is only 90 minutes, we have a chance, football is a mysterious and unpredictable sport, no one can predict what will happen in those 90 minutes for the Nigeria vs Argentina game, from what we seen , Argentina could score a couple against them...
