Such a bitter day for us. Messi was the only difference.

That Zabaleta tackle in the era of VAR is a penalty no question.

Messi was kept in check for 90 minutes. I rather think the difference was subbing Hajsafi!

Well it was Messi being brilliant for one sec but the substitution was wrong as well.

I was there and the 50,000+ Argentinian crowd was hushed by the way we played. The few thousand Brazilians who attended were trolling Argentina with Iran chants that no Team Melli fan ever came up with before.

So close to a historic result...

Anyone have links to the game? Preferably one that doesn’t require a sign up.

On the night before a Brazilian fan who was drunk came up my dad and I and swore on how excellent Iranians are in Tae Kwan Do and that he hoped he could see some of that tomorrow against Argentina.

              Gameday.
This was all during the second half where Argentina was faltering and we were rising.

"IRAN OLE...IRAN OLE IRAN OLE... IRAN IRAN IRAN"(repeat)

They also booed Argentinian possession and cheered ours consistently. Which is different than what you normally see 2nd half in Azadi where it quiets down somewhat.

Whenever Argentina missed a shot you could hear the Brazilians mock them with a classic "Ayyyyyyyyy"

They really liked the one scene where Pooladi dribbled Messi +Higuain with a yepa dopa. That got a roar.

Otherwise they rooted as hard as we were for Iran against their enemy. They were livid during the penalty incident with Zabaleta and Dejagah. A Brazilian fan literally ran to us holding a black (what I think was Corinthians) flag and kept yelling penalty! The Argentinian fans around us all tried hushing him and were noticeably pissed off.

                Thanks for sharing.

What an amazing atmosphere that must have been. I can only imagine what happened when their goalkeeper saved that Dejagah header with the tip of his fingers. Also Gucci's last one on one with the keeper where his shot went wide.

Much of the same. Jahanbakhsh's crossover on Zabaleta brfore chipping it to Gucci really raised eyebrows too as to who Jahanbakhsh was. He was 19 at the time.
