No Soria for Qatar but they replaced him with a Ghanaian forward with no caps Mohammad Muntari

Ibrahim is one of the few players I actually respect out of the PERSIAN gulf countries, he's a very talented player. Good to see that Soria is out though he was also another dangerous player....maybe this Ghanaian guy is pretty good too if he ousted Soria.

Either way though, we will show them who's boss as always

From that squad Boualem Khoukhi is an Algerian naturalised player as well.

                    GK Qasem Burhan - Senegalese

                    MF Magid Mohamed - Sudanese
MF Karim Boudiaf - Moroccan-Algerian, born in France... *sigh* (24 years old and played 4 years in Ligue 1/2)
                    MF Ali Assadalla - Bahrain
                    MF Mohamed Muntari - Ghanaian
                    MF Boualem Khoukhi - Algerian

                    FW Tresor Kangambu - Congolese

                    Qatar everyone

Karim Boudiaf speaking about his choice of Qatar, even though he was pretty much guaranteed a career in Ligue 1.

I can tell that this guy practically feels French, but will play for Qatar. His smile is made out of dollar bills and it's so easy to tell, the kid has no idea what he is doing.

Apparently Algeria youth team called him up but he didn't show up. He admits that his club Lekhwyia's project, was to buy him and other foreign players and naturalize them, and that's why he said that he refused the Algeria call-up because or else he wouldn't have been able to play for Qatar. Imagine how much they pay to acquire these guys that don't even know the name of this country to make them play for them, real definition of scums.

Unless you were born there, or have blood ties (up to two generations), you do have to be naturalized (a national/citizen of that country) and have lived there for "at least 5 years after reaching the age of 18". FIFA specifically made this rule in reference to Qatar and Togo.

On that note, I have no idea how this Muntari guy or Boudiaf would be eligible to play for Qatar. I know Boudiaf has played in a couple of friendlies, but let's face it, no one checks eligibility requirements for friendlies and opponents aren't going to make a big deal about it either.

Playing in the Asian Cup is obviously a different story and it's the QFF's responsibility to make sure they field eligible players or they will simply lose the matches in which any ineligible players are used - if a complaint is filed with FIFA or AFC.

I don't particularly have a problem with any of their other naturalized players (even Muntari), since they live there, are citizens and have pretty much played their entire careers there. They are Qatari citizens there like many of us are citizens of countries other than Iran. If I was a great player and Canada called me up to the national team, it's not really a weasel move just because I wasn't born here. As long as you have strong ties to a country, you should be good to go.

Regardless of pride, I want Qatar checked to see if they are eligible. It would be good revenge to have Qatar disqualified after the Sepahan Al Sadd fiasco. It would also prevent them from being legitimate as WC hosts in the future.

Qatar bypasses their own laws or "honors" foreigners with Qatari citizenship.
Its a big joke to them and they will get away with all of it.
