            "Bahrain set to end first camp
            Friday, December 26, 2014

            THE Bahrain national soccer team will conclude their training camp in Kuala Lumpur today before heading to Australia tomorrow for a second camp ahead of the Asia Cup to be held in Australia from January 9 to 31.

            Bahrain are in Group 'C' with Iran, Qatar and the UAE.

            Bahrain will be based in Balart City in Australia and will hold a second training camp from Saturday to January 8. They will play two friendly matches against Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

            Yesterday, national coach Marjan Eid supervised the morning training session which lasted over two hours. He concentrated on warming up the players and testing their fitness levels with help of Brazilian fitness trainer Jose Carlos and assistant coach Isa Al Sadoon.

            Goalkeeping coach Abdulle Belal held a separate session with the national team goalkeepers. He worked on some technical tactics.

            Midfielder Abdulla Abdo again trained separately with physical fitness specialist Deen Taylor as he his still recovering from an injury.

            Meanwhile, captain Mohammed Hussain arrived in Kuala Lumpur last night from Saudi Arabia where he plays for Al Nasr as a professional. He will be joining the training today.

            Till yesterday Hussain was playing for Al Nasr is the Saudi League and Crown Prince Championship.

            Team administrator Fahad Jalal and treasurer Adel Abbas Marzoug left for Melbourne yesterday to make arrangements for the team's arrival in Balart City tomorrow.

            The team will have two more training sessions today before concluding the first training camp."

              Uzbekistan beat Iraq 1-0 in Asian Cup warm-up match

              Abu Dhabi: Uzbekistan beat Iraq 1-0 in the United Arab Emirates as they claimed their fourth straight victory in a friendly match. Jamshid Iskanderov scored the only goal of the match through a penalty in the 13th minute Thursday, reports Xinhua.

              Iraq also had a penalty but they missed the chance. They are looking forward to "revenge" Dec 28 when the two sides will meet again. Uzbekistan will begin their 2015 AFC Asian Cup campaign against North Korea Jan 10 before facing China and Saudi Arabia.

                Saudi Arabia name strong squad for Asian Cup

                Nassir Al-Shamrani and Nawaf Al-Abid will spearhead an experienced Saudi Arabia squad at next month's Asian Cup in Australia. Al-Shamrani, the reigning Asian Player of the Year, will lead the attack along with midfielder Al-Abid, voted the most valuable player in the 2014 Gulf Cup of Nations.

                Long-time captain Saud Kariri will skipper the Green Falcons as they chase a record-equalling fourth Asian Cup crown. Saudi Arabia are drawn in Group B for the Jan. 9-31 Asian Cup with China, Uzbekistan and North Korea.

                          THE Bahrain national soccer team will head today to Balart City in Australia for their second training camp ahead of the Asia Cup to be held in Australia from January 9 to 31.

                          Bahrain are in Group 'C' with Iran, the UAE and Qatar.

                          During the second training camp, Bahrain will play two friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

                          Meanwhile, yesterday's training camp on the final day in Kuala Lumpur was changed due to rain.

                          The national team members were restricted to train at the gym. The evening session was devoted to raising the fitness levels of the players under the supervision of fitness trainer Jose Carlos of Brazil.

                          Abdulla Yousif was unable to join training due to illness. He will rest for 24 hours before rejoining the team's training in Balart City.

                          Meanwhile, captain Mohammed Hussain, who arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday night, joined the team's training while another player Faisal Bu Dahoom trained separately as he his recovering from a recent injury.

                          National team assistant coach Isa Al Sadoon said the players are buoyant and rearing to go.

                          Coach Marjan Eid said the team had worked out some tactical moves during the training camp and now look forward to fine-tuning it further in Balart City.

                          He added that the technical team watched videos of the other teams in the group and analysed them using Dart Fish programme."
