I don't want to speculate but I did some research...Al Wasl Club was founded on 1 May 1974. The goal that Majidi scored was in the 2005 season when Vahedi Nikhbakht was his teammate. The game against Al Wahda was not in May nor was it in April, so he was definitely lying when he said it was due to the anniversary of the club.
Another point, he mentioned that the person who owns the club is not involved in the government. Actually Sheikh Ahmad bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the head of Dubai Police.
Why the need to lie? I respect Majidi for his accomplishments and love, but sometimes he reacts childishly, like when he tries to get back at Ferdosipoor. We all know that Iranian journalism is shit including Ferdosipoor, and frankly if i was subjected to this much hate I would've probably done the same thing Farhad did. But I am not a professional player, he is- he is supposed to react better.
Lastly, so what if he played 7-8 years for arab Persian Gulf leagues? Its his choice man, let him be.. its his life. No one has the right to question his choices.

IMO he does.. Possibly the best finisher in Iran after Ali Daei. He was talented and always kept fit. At age 35- he was better than 90% of IPL players. Winning the Asian Champions League, the IPL, UAE League, Qatar League... these are accomplishments whether people like them or not. Not to mention being "aghay gol" for multiple years.

He was a joy to watch, and this is coming from a PP fan.
