BTW, TM has dropped one place in the latest FIFA rankings - we're now ranked 42nd, below Sweden and Israel and above Hungary and Nigeria.
The good news is that we're still ranked 1st in Asia, miles ahead of any other teams with 717 points. Japan, the 2nd placed team in Asia for comparison has 623 points (almost a hundred less than us).
Australia is the only one of the top 6 Asian teams that moved ahead in the rankings and that was by one spot. All the other 5 took a tumble with UAE dropping the most at 5 places.
Here's the ranking of our opponents for the upcoming friendly and WCQ's (in order we will be facing them):
Uzbekistan: 74
Turkmenistan: 173
Guam: 174
India: 141
Oman: 101
Japan: 52

Lads, put down the playstation controllers, Turkmenistan's biggest loss in the last 10 years was 5 goals by Bahrain in '05. They only lost 4-0 to Romania and South Korea in that time, too. No one is hitting double-figures against them and frankly, who cares, just prevent a Lebanon debacle and put together a promising system and side with some youngsters and that's all that matters.

Would prefer to treat the games with professional tactical discipline to get the players used to their jobs in the system as opposed to lining up in a 1-1-9 formation and calling upon the great Khalatbari in order to break meaningless records. I mean sure, if our performance is so good that it results in a thrashing, great, but chasing these records in itself is pointless.
