Wow, according to V4, CQ actually consulted with some of the TM players and cadre (Montazeri, Hajsafi, Shojaei, Ando, Peyrovani and Aghjanian) to see if they should cancel the trip - presumably in protest to what happened.

Ultimately it was decided to continue, but perhaps a sit-in protest at some point would not be a bad idea. It's pretty embarrassing and annoying that something like this happens almost every time TM leaves or comes back.

The reason the delay times have increased so much for domestic flights is 90% due to technical reasons. After those terrible crashes couple of years ago, a decision was made to make technical checks much more stringent and becoming more lenient with delays in order to allow that criteria to be met...and since the planes are more older, there will be even more problems.

well the airline morons in charge need to keep such inspection time-frames in mind before they present a departure time to their clients..!!
this was supposedly a private chartered flight..!! no excuses for such delays, unless a sudden, unexpected maintenance problem popped up..!!
otherwise, either it was intentional in order to annoy CQ and company ..?or probably the typical idiocy seemingly running rampant in every operational aspect of iran nowadays..!!

Sadly the concept of "preventative maintenance" doesn't really set over there. Not saying that the planes aren't maintained, but the mentality of "don't fix it until broken" is still present there. They simply don't have the resources and capabilities to run the airlines the same way as they do in Europe and US. On top of that counting the limited number of air frames available to them. It is actually extremely sad to see that the team doesn't have a dedicated plane just for traveling.
