khodaro shokr and as a matter of course. CQ
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.
Its a garbage rumor.
Even if CQ wasn't around, the clubs won't release their players for such games or training camps unless they are FIFA match days. Keep in mind Jahanbakhsh and Azmoun play in Europe, their clubs don't really care for these tournaments and mini training camps.

The format of the WCQ has been changed:
Our road to Russia 2018 will already start at June 2015 as 40 Asian teams are going to be drawn into 8 different groups with 5 teams. All group winners and the 4 best runner ups will advance to the final round and be divided into 2 groups of 6 teams in which the 2 group winners and runner ups qualify themselves for Russia 2018 and both 3rd placed teams go into play-offs.

Sounds quite ok to me. Then our problems with getting friendlies is partially solved as we get tons of matches with easier teams before the final qualification group stage. Our attack needs this to get more coordinated.
As for our defence I have just one word: "concrete"

That's terrible and it's going to reward teams ranked 5th to 8th and be detrimental to higher ranked teams like Iran. Imagine a grouping with Iran, Saudi Arabia, North Korea and Thailand where potentially only 1 team from the group will qualify to the 2nd round?!
I'm not convinced that having 6 teams would make it easier. We like to play down (or up) to the other teams' level. So we must avoid being content with draws in the final round.
Alireza Haghighi's staring down the Koreans while they're shaking hands reminded me of this video. You can obviously see that he is trying to intimidate the Koreans while shaking hands in the beginning of the second video Zandijoon posted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9MtJ164XJI
