Is anyone participating or going to watch it this year? It's taking place Labor Day weekend in Irvine, and I've heard a rumor that Ali Karimi is playing on one of the teams this year (which I don't think is all that far fetched considering that Mahdavikia and Bagheri participated in it last year). Anybody have details?

I actually coach soccer at a local organization in Connecticut and one of our directors is headed out and he told me that Ali Daei, Karim Bagheri and Mehdi Mahdavikia will be participating. He probably mistook Ali daei for Ali Karimi... since Daei is obv busy with PP.
Although he told me he was heading to San Diego with a group of folks from Patterson,NJ, maybe the venue changed?

Last I checked the only 100% confirmed player that was coming is bagheri. Karimi doesn't get visas/green cards as frequently as the rest of them so I don't know if it's true, but it's certainly possible.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it as I was planning to since it's the first week of classes for me. When I get more info on who is coming I will let you guys know.Team Meli Iran

The karimi thing was just a rumor as I had initially assumed, however Mahdavikia and bagheri are here in the states now and will be playing.
