Why don't they sell the club shares in an IPO style in Tehran stock exchange? Is it because they have already filtered who can/should buy the club? Or is it a free advertising venue for every rich company/person with no intention of completing the deal.

Every where else in the world, they would not publicize the offers until the deal is complete.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

If you assess two of the strongest teams in International football in recent years, namely Spain and Germany whom are the past two world cup winners you will see the core of the these teams came from one club that being of Bayern Munich and Barcelona. With atleast 7-8 starters of each respective national team playing in one strong club. Naturally this develops a strong team chemistry, fluency in play and gives the team an edge over other teams.

It really saddens me that there are people in our country holding our football back for personal and political reasons!!
Perspolis needs a strong management that can carry it to its glory days.

Imagine how much stronger Team Melli would be if the core of the team played in the one team.

So they just announced that there will be a two more than break since they didn't get the results they desired.

An MP who is in the committee also said that he doesn't think that these clubs should be sold because they belong to the people but also said that selling shares to the public was not a viable option.... Whatever that means.

These guys are just going through the motions to say they tried and in the end do nothing.

Great interview by Ali Daei. He says why the two clubs will never be sold. Interview starts around minute 3.

Well that's it for now. PP and SS have now been turned into "cultural" clubs and no longer qualify under the law that requires them to be privatized.

The big question that will remain unanswered is that if this was the plan all along, why waste everyone's time holding auctions, taking bids, reviewing bids, etc....?

The plan was for another auction to be held after the league's end, but now it is no longer needed and the clubs will remain in the gov'ts control.

Rah Ahan has been assigned a new owner. It was announced at the press conference before today's match. They didn't say who though.

Privatization may be a start but not the finished line .. you first need to have a strategy and a model for how the entire system is going to work. The key question to tackle is how the clubs are going to make money on their own and be able to sustain their existence year after year. ... Just throwing them out in the hands of private owners would not solve anything. We have seen a few attempts in the past few years with disastrous ending!

And... by no means, this is any small job. Much bigger than any Akhound or Bacheh Akhound or Bacheh Bacheh Akhound who happened to study in the Americas or Europe with money from Khazaneh Imman Zaman, can dream about tackling! ...

You almost need American marketing genuity here to solve the problem, but even that you may not be successful, because to make it work, you need to have structural changes in the political system and the laws that govern that wild wild East country.

So .. forget it!! it is easier like this! Khar tu khar , suits that country better.
