They have made the wise choice because it's all about draining every single penny from your profession and when an opportunity like this arrives, they should take it.

It's easy for us in this forum to diss their decision but if any of us were confronted with the same situation we would all take the option that pays the most money.

This way they have life after retirement sought out and could spend their money on other buisiness ventures.

It called being smart and taking the opportunity when it come your way.
Oh, Lord. They are professional football players, they should always try to become better, not to semi-retire to arab leagues for money. Drogba could have made million in turkey, I'm sure he had some offers from arab leagues as well, but he decided to go back to chelsea. now that's a professional football player. When you have made football your PROFESSION, you have to try to become the best at it. no one made dejagah or ghocchannezhad to become football players, no one forced them, they picked it themselvs, It's their profession.

so, to heck with anyone who thinks becomeing a football player is a get rich quick scheme. It's not. These guys are lazy and money hungry and can't even honor their own choices in life.

^^^ Drogba looks even more lazy and less of a professional just making up the numbers on the bench at Chelsea. He knew that he was going to get almost no game time at Chelsea, but yet he still moved back to Chelsea because he couldn't stand to get out of his comfort zone but wanted the nice life of London.

      Bad comparison using Drogba

I don't agree with that. I don't think being at Chelsea is comfortable. The fact that he agreed to go back and train with chelsea actually speaks a lot. but let's agree to disagree. what about my other points?

do you disagree that everyone should try to excel at their profession ?! and when your profession is football, you should try your best to excel at it? and being on bench in qatar and playing in kuwait are not exactly excelling at your profession ?!

at least drogna went back to a more professional team and league. You learn more and develop more at an half an hour training session with Chelsea than you do playing 10 seasons at qatar stars league.

Lets looks at it this way. Football is your career. Your offered higher paying job than your current job. You know that after the WC and a good season with a struggling team this is the only time you will be offered this large sum of money. You dream to travel and dine in some of the world's most exotic places once you retire. Now you know your current salary won't fulfil your retirement ambitions, but the offer with the bigger salary will.

Tell me what you would choose?

There is no point arguing. You make it sound like they were getting paid nothing and were piss poor. footballers make more money than average people anyway. These guys just wanted to make a ridiculous amount of money, and that is low. like it or not, it is. they put money over their footballing career. I don't know why is it so hard to see that fact.

I chose less money when I was put in that position many years ago as more money would have compromised my integrity.

drogba was actually demanded by mourinho. He isnt a player for every game as he is around 36, but they rest him and use him as needed, ive watched some of chelseas games and he is still a very dangerous and very quick player, like he always was.

Dejagahs coach at Al Arabi, Petrescu, has had his contract terminated due to a string of bad results even though they had spent the most on new players for this season.
