Even these guys that have been there and think that it's absurd to go to these leagues, so I still don't understand all these "he has to secure his life" dudes are on to, ridiculous.
I was watching some video compilations of Dejagah during his time at Fulham and I was drawn to tears. It made my life so much brighter going through the week, knowing that on the weekend I'd be able to see him play even if only for a few minutes. Given I'm young and World Cup qualifications were my first time really supporting Iran, Dejagah has been my favorite player. In my life it has been rare to see an Iranian in a top flight league, yet Dejagah did it. He fought until the end, when he wasn't injured, and both his name and physicality remind me of myself. In a way he was a role model, and I guess I never really realized it until now how much I miss seeing him play. We have so much to look forward to with Jahanbakhsh and Azmoun, but I really wasn't ready to see Dejagah go so soon.
*Montazeri played the full 90 mins for Umm Salal.
*Pooladi played the full 90 mins for Al Shahaniya and scored 2 goals, the 3rd and 4th. (A free kick and penalty.)
*Shojaei played the full 90 mins for Al Shahaniya and was subbed out in injury time. He scored the second goal.
Al Shahaniya out of relegation by two points with this win. Guccis Al Wakrah is now in second last spot with a game in hand.

You just said what I had in my mind. It is a torture to watch our talents (specially Gucci and Dejagah) in Qatar or other Persian Gulf leagues.

Think before you run your mouth off.
Both Dejagah and Gucci have served Team Melli admirably and have have save us time and time again in their few years with the national team. The same person whose 'only looking for money and the least amount of effort' scored the goals that took us to the World Cup (which he scored in as well) followed by scoring two crucial goals in the Asian Cup itself.
During the Daei/Ghotbi stint, people would kill to have national players of Gucci and Dejagah's quality (regardless of their club). Now that we have them, you insult their integrity.
Had they not joined iran national team, they would NEVER had gone to gutter leages, nor ever had offers from them!! you all really think its just by chance, that they wanna destroy our players when they suddenly join TM?

I have most respect for Dejagah. The way he played in Fulham, Herta, Wolf.. was amazing. That is why I said it is a torture to watch them in Qatar. Gucci was awesome during the WCQs not so much after. I want to see them both in top flight leagues not in backwater Qatar league. I just have no respect for this behavior of joining Qatari teams for more money and less challenges. If it is not an intentional plan by Qataris to weaken our team then it is a wrong pattern for our NT members and young talents to just join for money. Sardar, Jahanbakhsh, and Ezatollahi are killing themselves to grew to something better in Europe while we know how the life and training is in UAE and Qatar. There is no place for defending those who go to Arab leagues (except the over 30s). You can ask the opinion of any football expert in Iran or elsewhere.
I know it is their choice not ours to make for joining cheap Qatari clubs while filling their packets with Qatari dollars but then they can not claim they have gheyrate melli. Dejagah, Gucci and Pooladi could have join many European teams if they didn't want the easy money.
*Dejagah did not play todays match for Al Arabi
*Gucci started for Al Wakrah and was subbed out in the 68th min. Al Arabi scored right after his substitution.
Al Sadd vs. Al Ahli 3:3
*Jabbari started and was subbed out in the 89th min. He scored the first goal in the 32nd min.
*J Hosseini played the full 90 mins
The only time I get a bitter-sweet feeling from Iranians scoring is these instances. You get happy they are performing and scoring, then you realize the league they are playing in and how much they are wasting their potential and the goal loses its value. I hope Reza can start making good career choices one day for his clubs, and I hope other Iranians start going back to Europe or try their luck in Europe and do not waste everything away. Luckily it seems that the youngsters have a different mentality.
