"NEC worried over Jahanbakhsh long absence due to Asia Cup
September 16, 2014
NIJMEGEN - NEC Alireza Jahanbakhsh becomes possiblly absent for a long time. The striker of the club Nijmegen is in view for the selection of Iran for the Asia Cup. The tournament is at an election for his country in January and he could be absent in the first division club.
Jahanbakhsh (21) is hoping for an invitation from the Iranian federation. He has seen the World Cup last summer in Brazil. The Asia Cup in Iran also raises expectations he says, "We are among the best countries in Asia. That tournament can bring us success. "
Jahanbakhsh seemed this summer to leave at NEC, but a transfer to Heerenveen and FC Groningen eventually fell through. The leadership of NEC is not happy when the Iranian would be the Asia Cup. Actively in January"

CEO of NEC is now getting really ridiculous. Apparently they are not happy with Alireza leaving for the Asian Cup LITERALLY stated in the article.
Every club should let his player leave for any major tournament regardless of what they want or like, it has been this way ever since FIFA made these rules.
I hope they stay reasonable and release Jahanbakhsh for the tournament on time.

Like here, one guy is hoping for Iran to blow out as soon as possible just that JB returns to NEC:

I respect NEC and I will continue to support them but sometimes their decisions and actions about JB specifically are really questionable.

First of all, not everything that the local media say is true.
Second of all, I think it's just logical that N.E.C. is not happy that Jahanbakhsh has to leave, but that doesn't mean they won't let him. The problem won't be big as he will only miss 3 (or 4) games, if Iran reaches the final. N.E.C. won't play games between 21-12 and 16-01.
Third of all, about N.E.C. raising the price. This is a story that has never been confirmed and is probably bullshit. Only one person in the comment section of a website started about it. If all things in these comment sections would be true, Messi would've been playing for N.E.C. right now. The only thing we know is that N.E.C. probably asked around 2 or 3 million for Alireza, something that clubs in Russia, Qatar and so forth wanted to pay and clubs in the Netherlands didn't. Therefore, saying that N.E.C. has made some questionable decisions regarding Alireza is actually a questionable statement. What else has N.E.C. done wrong? Therefore expecting N.E.C. to be obstructing is based on nothing. They will release him. They might not like it, as he is an important player, but no club likes losing players for international matches. So that's just normal. Or do you really think that Osasuna will be celebrating the fact that they lose two of their players (I thought Ansarifard and Nekounam)?

Almost the whole of the Japan and Korea squad players will be released probably around a week before the start of AC. The fact that our players don't make it to Europe makes us go mental and the fact that their clubs have the right to keep them until then also makes us go mental! Iranian mentality at its best.چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

In a local newspaper an interview with Alireza: http://www.deweekkrant.nl/files/pdfa...9_140917_3.pdf
As most of you don't speak Dutch, I will try to summarize it in English.
During the few days between 29-08 and 13-09, Alireza was back in Iran to surprise his parents with a visit.
About the world cup, he says that he put all the energy he still had after last season in the WC, where they have shown the world that Iranian football is something to watch out for. He says that there are many very good Iranian footballers, but that they all act too much as individuals. That's the reason he went to Europe. Also, he wants to be a showcase for Iranian football and a role model for young Iranian players to also go to Europe.
I hope this summary is correct, but the other Dutch members will probably be able to make it more complete.
