I wonder if he would of said no to Iran, He might have a shot at USNT by now.His still a very good player and I was very surprised he wasn't elected.Maybe its the fact his half American.Hope he doesn't turn into another Fereydoon Zandi.

Beitashour's nationality is American, but he is 100% Iranian blood. He is not half American.

Zandi although didn't get enough caps as he should have played in the WC and was a very valuable player the games that he did play and scored memorable goals.

If Vouria Ghafouri keeps playing like in the Asian Cup, there is really no place in the squad for Beitashour anymore.

But considering we have a shortage of right backs, CQ might re-invite him for the depth.

Beitashour played against my hometown team today so I got to watch. His team played pretty poorly but he wasnt too bad. He is decent at defending against a speedy player like Giovinco but struggled heavily against physical players like Altidore. His crosses were pretty weak tbh I dont think he found a Vancouver player even once with a cross. His defensing style is awkward but he gets it done most of the time, although he is weaker in the air. Im not sure if he would fit CQ's current style.

Vancouver didn't do nearly as much as other teams like TFC in the off season to bolster their lineup. I think they will struggle mightily in the first half of the season. On another note, GO TFC!

thats cause, he hardly ever mark his man up closely and often give himself about 5-10 yard cushion , otherwise they will blow by him in a heart beat ..!! he seems to me too sluggish to keep up with a speedy winger, manoAmano, toe to toe..!!
your right though, he simply isnt a good match for CQ's preferred style of ALL OUT PRESSING defensive scheme..!!
perhaps he should transfer to SKC, and get a better adaptation to this similar to TM, highly pressing, physical and high energy style of play, then Carlos may give him another serious look..!!?
