This shows you that the "core" of the team is what is important and that core will always come from our local league. The foreign based players are short term plans, they use the name of the country to get to competitions like the WC and once they accomplish this, they turn back and go to A-rab countries for the $.
I prefer a player if he's better not because he's foreign and plays in a below average league which has exciting ESPN coverage. I prefer someone like Omid Ebrahimi than Omid Nazari, just because the latter is not good enough. I prefer Hamed Lak to Daniel Davari, Sadeghian to Hasegawa ect... And Montazeri or Heydari to Beitashour so far.
You guys have to stop being so typical khareji parast and start believing in your own talent. An english Iranian guy will not drop out of the heaven to save our team, our local talent will determine our success.
This was my favorite comment up to now Bro...

I am not against foreign based players if they are better than our local born players in their playing position like Dejagah and Ghoochannejhad.

If the foreign born players are equal with local born players or worse than them like Beitashour, Omid Nazari, Hasegawa (He was not even in Japan B squad for EAFF Asian Cp Games), the local born players should have the priority. That is all.

Except Dejagah and Ghoochannejhad, I am against of having other foreign born players.
Both of the above were born in Iran The young IPL players need to prove their worth in the league in order to be called up, like what just happened with Rafei and Amiri, I think by now we should all know that we should trust CQ. He called up Nazari and Atashkadeh and they weren't good enough so he didnt take them to the WC, he called up Beitashour but obviously he wasn't as good as the alternatives who came from the IPL. Carlos knows what he's doing better than you and I do.

You are absolutely right. This comes from a "boomi-prefered" culture in Iranian football. In many Iranian teams, fans hugely prefer local grown players. They are only willing to accept "non-boomi" players if they are better than the "boomi" players.

I have no problem with Dejagah and Gucci. They are obviously heads and shoulders above our home grown players.
I can't say the same about Beitashour and Davari. At least with Davari you could argue that he plays in Europe and not a low quality robotic league like the MLS.

But why do I dislike Beitashour? Shouldn't I dislike Davari even more? well no. Here is why.

Dejagah, Gucci, Davari, Nazari, etc. all came to TM before we had qualified for the WC. They came and helped (or were willing to help) us qualify to the WC in a very difficult WCQ campaign.

Where was Beitashour during all this? practicing with the USMNT and trying to impress Klinsmann to get into the US WC squad. But he got rejected there and we qualified to the WC. Then he remembered that he can go to the WC with us. Great. We'll do all the hard work. We'll take all the pain, and the guy who was not even interested in playing for us now gets a free ride. And after he gets that undeserved free ride, he has the audacity to bitch that he didn't get playing minutes and that it was unfortunate for him to miss out on the USMNT b/c of an injury etc. Seriously why should I respect and support this kind of behavior?

That's the reason why I don't like him. I hope I was clear.

These two posts were gold. Now you can either argue without labeling people, or you can stick your head in the sand and pretend that they don't even exist.

so IPL is better than The MLS? do you really think David Beckham , Keane, henry, cahil and many more would come to the IPL to finish up their carriers and grab some extra cash? the answer is no. i do not agree with you when u say the IPL is better than the MLS. does the IPL have better technical players? of course! but do they know how to play like a team? absolutely not. thats where the MLS takes the lead. if you do not believe me just go and watch some of the galaxys games. In a couple of years MLS is going to be one of the top leagues in the world.. why? because they have the stadiums, the practice fields and the superstars! What is Iran doing? Absolutely nothing.

Dude, there is no point in arguing with people like clipsport and Arash_1998. The fact that they prefer a local player above a foreign based one JUST because he was born in Iran is simply pathetic. Thank god we have CQ as coach, with their beloved GN the likes of Pejman Nouri, Maziar Zare, Mohammad Nouri, Ali Asgari and Hadi Aghili and etc would be re-introduced in the team while players like Steven Beitashour and Daniel Davari would be excluded because they are not ''pureblood'' Iranians

I think the biggest problem was clipsport came into the forum with irrational bashing of Beita. It was straight from the script of a broken hearted drama queen.

If he learns to criticize rationally and not make huge assumptions no one would argue with him or call him a troll.

But things like "CQ sucks because he yawned" or "Beita sucks because he plays in MLS" is just asking for a reaction.

We dealt with the same crap when Zandi and Dejagah wanted to join TM. There were people bashing them just the same.

The fact is, Beitashour chose Iran and is in TM and did everything that was asked of him. He didn't create drama, he didn't create hashiyeh, he sat the bench like he was told. That is what a team player does.

So long as he continues to serve TM, this stupid bashing of him needs to stop.

Like I said, critique his game all you want, but don't pretend to know what is in the guy's mind.

I'm not saying IPL>MLS, but do you really think that what Beckham and Henry had in mind when they chose MLS was the quality of the league? lol. They chose MLS because of the money and mainly probably because living in the US with all that cash is not that bad.

Even if IPL was twice as good as the MLS, I doubt Beckhham would want to live in the Islamic Republic instead of the US..

i dont think anyone here is being khareji parast, its not like people are saying beita is head and shoulders better above any other option we have. montazeri is the clear best short term option we have but as for heydari and seeing his failure in brazil and slow start to the season, i dont think he is a clear choice over beita by any means.

lets also not get away from the main argument at hand which is the argument against a member who has a clear agenda and purpose to bash rather aimlessly all the time in the hopes of proving this very point you mentioned but is totally wrong, as i am yet to see anyone glorify beita in any way shape or form, heck even prefer him to montazeri! had that been the case, there would be a little understanding there but no such thing exists.

For real. People act like there is a foreign player lobby pushing for these guys.

Just because people defend and react to ridiculous attacks doesn't mean they have an agenda to push.

Aziz like I said, I'm not saying the IPL is better than MLS. Frankly, I don't know which one is better cause I don't follow the MLS and I have heard people claim that it is, and that it isn't. Besides, Beckam, Henry etc are not exactly in need of money, and I believe someone like them prefer to live in a western country rather than any middle east country. Generally, I can ask you the same, who I presume is born and raised in California. Lets say you had enough money to live like a king anywhere. Would you prefer to live in Dubai or Cali?

Today I Learned that there are a lot of xenophobic fools on PFDC. We get it, Paykan cars are better than Ferraris because they're made in Iran.

Seriously, your opinions are your opinions. You all need to stfu about "facts" about who is better than who. CQ brought Beita and the others for a reason. If the IPL is so full of talent, would he have done this?

Think about the above question. You all need to stop being dumb. Iran produces shit 99% of the time, because of the corruption and ineptitude, but please keep lying to yourselves to feel better. No skin off of my back.

I respect your opinion but I would say that majority of people on this forum are Khareji parast, it's actually a common trait among Iranians. My previous reply was more general and less directed specifically to the Beitashour case.

People here pop up sometimes with names such as Yadollahi and other insane players, saying they should be invited to TM just for the sake of playing in Europe. I probably have less Iranian "blood" like KC would say than most of you guys, but if someone is being less biased here about IPL and 2rageh Iranians it's probably me and guys like Camran Khan. Whenever anyone comes up by critisizing or saying that these foreign 4rth division or MLS players are weaker than an IPL players, PFDC goes absolutely mad as if Beitashour or Davari are their little babies. I put a "2 rageh" player in front of an IPL player if he IS better. Beitashour is not a better player than Montazeri, Davari is not better than our top league goalies, Nazari is not better than Omid Ebrahimi or 31 year old Ando's toe, Hasegawa is not better than Sadeghian. However on the other hand Dejagah IS better than our wingers, Ghoochannejhad currently IS better than our strikers.

Start being rational people and trust your league because you have no choice. Saying our league has no talent is an insult to our greatest players. If you think we have no talent and that our IPL players are worth nothing, then don't ever ever mention or speak positively about Nekounam, Teymourian, Azmoun, Jahanbakhsh, Haghighi, Ezzatollahi or any of our past legends coming out of our league. Stop being hypocrites saying "Omagad Ando, Jahanbakhsh are seooo ba gheyrat" but go behind and insult the league players and the talent out there.
I'm done with this because there are ridiculous comments like people accused of being xenophobic , without responding to facts, this is getting very ridiculous I made my point
