Vancouver Whitecaps defeat a strong Seattle Sounders away from home 1-0 to win the Cascadia Cup and move closer to cementing a spot in the MLS playoffs with two games remaining against lower placed opposition. One of the teams is Beitashours former team, the San jose Earthquakes.

I was able to catch the second half and from what I saw, Beitashour had a great game. He did very well defensively against a team consisting of Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey. Also a few moments where he had some clutch tackles and clearances.

"However for the second week running, Carl Robinson's Whitecaps staunchly defended a half time lead. In truth, Seattle had few look-ins in the second half. Andy O'Brien, Jordan Harvey, Steven Beitashour and especially Kendall Waston were outstanding in the Caps back four."

Beitashour will be facing his former team as Vancouver attempt to seal the final MLS playoff spot in the Western conference with one more game remaining after this match up.

Beitashours comments about the match:

"One Whitecaps player that knows the Earthquakes well is former San Jose right back Steven Beitashour. The Iran international expects his hometown club to come out fighting this weekend, despite its elimination from playoff contention after a winless run of 13 straight league games.

"It's going to be a tough game," Beitashour said. "I know they're out of it, but they're still fighting for jobs. They don't want to give a poor performance because you don't know what's going to happen after that.

you honestly sound like miley kohan. how can you call navad garbage? it literally is the ONLY program in the whole of iran that has truth involved in it. They often bring attention to pressing issues in our football that otherwise goes unnoticed. For example did you see the segment where they showed the sad state of our u-23 league? Most people in iran did not even know we had such a league, but navad went to a Naft U-23 vs Saipa U-23 game and showed us the lack of facility and organization. People really take navad for granted, you will only see how important it is to our football when it is gone

Have you ever watched "varzesh Az negah 2". They discuss Iranian Football and its problems with a panel of players/coaches/experts etc. And they do this without playing Pat and Mat music. It's not as entertaining as having mayeli kohan and royanian come on the line and call the host Keyroshipour and talk nonsense every week.

btw does anyone know what happened to "varzesh az negah 2"? did it get cancelled?
