I have no bias against him but the fact that he even has to justify playing for iran shows that he is somewhat embarrassed of the connotations related to iran nowadays.
the guy clearly says he grew up iranian and loves iran.....go get busy with something else and stop knit picking dumb shit

I gave about 8 concrete sources... Just go ahead and overlook those though. Great arguing with such an open-minded person who can look at the facts instead of attempting to analyze 6 words in an hour long interview to attempt to enter a player's mind and make a generalized conclusion about all of the player's motives.
I don't come in here and randomly praise Beitashour. You are the one who makes a bi-monthly visit to bash him, and I'm sick of it. Hence, I am justified in being pissed off, because you are a major troll on PFDC. I can't remember the last productive thing you have ever posted, if there has ever been a productive post by you.
You start hashieh and accuse players of certain things, then when I call you a troll or your comments dumb, you hide behind the veil that it's hurtful to say bad things about others and their intentions.
Hypocrite... and delusional... and envious... and annoying.
^These are the words that describe you. And you can cry and whine and whatever you want, but you know these to be true. Have 15 members stand up and say clipsport is a rational and productive member of the boards and I will eat my shoe. I can probably get 50 members to vouch that you are the characteristics that I listed above.

you're just a troll on the internet, and i understand that. but steven beitashour did what was good for his career, and you would have done the exact same thing. anyone of us in his position would. so his heart wasn't fully in TM - so what? he had the talent to make the final squad and he didn't even play. his selection in WC had no impact.
so shutup and get over the fact that Steven Beitashour banged your gf in the past

I agree with you man! He simply is too Americanized and don't have that true Iranian heritage. I noticed that through his very few interviews. Living here in the states for the past 19 years I see a lot of these types of Iranians who simply lack Ghoroor. Beh gholeh maroof "cho Iran nabashad taneh man mabaad"! Beh nazareh man 90% fekreh manafash boodeh keh beh TM omad. Baazam Dejagah damesh garm keh esalatesho khoub yaadesheh! Ghashang vaazeh farsi harf mizaneh. Steven reed baa in Farsi harf zadanesh! Having said all above he is a solid RB!sigpicVIVA K8RIMI

Steven Beitashour @ Vancouver Whitecaps | 2014-2015 - NEW
Even players in a whole other class and level than him that were in the same situation as Beitashour like Dejagah, Zandi and Ghoochannejhad showed so much love and passion for Iran in every interviews, and they actually did contribute to Iran (WCQ or WC itself) a lot, again unlike Steven who showed up few months before TM flies to Brazil.
I had the same impression about him when I first heard his interviews and definitely that did put me off. However I know that he, like Nazari, will not get more than 6-7 caps in matches vs teams like Indonesia and Palestine, won't be an important member of TM and it's not worth creating all these stories and arguments about it.

okay lets get some things cleared up zandijoon. you saying dej, gucci, and zandi are in a whole other class and level thing is ur opinion and i respect that.
saying gucc, dej and zandi showed more respect and passion than beita is not really that true. let me say why, all three , gucc, dej and zandi ( not to sure about him) did not have the oppurtunity to play for , holland or germany. sure dej played for the youth levels of germany but he nor the other two were on the radar for their european countries. steven was till the very end! every players dream is to play in the wc. me, you, everyone else on this forum would jump at the opportunity to play at the wc! doesnt matter wether is the U.S for me or iran, i would represent both with all my passion, just like steven did and will continue to do. you will see steven in the asian cup and many other tourneys and he will shine, which is going to make some members here mad and pissed.
lastly, just like you said u cant compare zandi, dej and gucci to beita because they are way more talented and blah blah. same goes with beita and nazari... you cant compare the two bro! cmon. thats ridiculous. its like comparing a gourmet burger joint to McDonalds.

But anyways that is not the point. I was thrilled when I heard Dejagah, Zandi and Ghoochannejhad speak in interviews and how they showed their love for Iran, I surely didn't see one bit of that in Steven's interviews (of course, I don't have any agenda or bias or anything). When I heard that he was joining the team, I was curious and positive about it until I heard him speak in interviews and about his choice of Iran. I never had the same reaction with the other 3 players, however with Steven, my initial reaction after listening and reading his interviews was "who cares, we don't even really need you" Anyways like I said, it's not worth arguing about this as we are talking about a max 10 capper, especially when some of you guys are very one sided.

You can compare Beitashour with Mahini or Heydari, there you can have a comparaison. Thing is, not only they are world class players compared to him, but they also showed an incomparable amount of passion for the country, whether they still had a chance with their second country or not. It all comes down to how you speak about it at the end, either you choose to play for Iran or you don't. Steven chose Iran and still spoke like it was strictly a football-based decision, not even sugar coating it.
