^ Well, 7-0 is pretty bad too.

What a downfall. He was a starter in Bundesliga last year and everyone wanted him to be the first choice goalkeeper in Brazil.

I honestly dont see what people see or ever saw in this guy that makes them go gaga. Now I will not say he is a shit goalkeeper, but he is not exactly someone we should take much notice of either. He has slow reflexes and freezes like a damn statue when shots are made at his goal (Guinea match anyone?) and I dont think he would mesh well with our team because of the language barrier.
And no I dont say this because of disastrous 7-0 result. I've always thought he was nothing special and I would chose at least 5 goalkeepers in Iran before him.
There is also a reason why CQ did not start him at the World Cup.

Just another one of those overhyped European based "ubermench" players.

Haghighi plays and develops in Portugal, he will be nr. 1 for years to come.

I hope Davari starts to pick himself up and get back into form. We will still cheer for him he is an Iranian and has played for our national team.

Did he make any mistakes? I mean if you put Manuel Neuer in a hobby team and let them play Real Madrid, he'd also concede tons of goals.

Was this a friendly or league match?

I can't find any info on it.

Maybe German members can check, but it seems there was something called the Frankfurt cup.

It's an indoor tournament and the lost 7-0.

I don't even know if he was playing but here are some pictures from GCZ's twitter

He was a decent keeper at one point for sure in his days in the 2. Bundesliga and in the beginning of his bundesliga campaign with Braunschweig, but ever since this time last year roughly he's been getting progressively worse and worse. I will still cheer for him and hope to see him back in form but he is nowhere near TM caliber ATM especially with the wealth of talent we have in that position!

So you know this and I know this, so why CQ chose him?????

well it's easy to say this now, hindsight is 20-20. but at the time, rahmati was kicked out and haghighi was an unknown quantity. lets not forget that haghigh didn't become our #1 until the very eve of the nigeria match! so davari, a well-respected bundesliga goalie, was worth including on the WC squad.

Juergen Klopp saying Davari was a good GK should tell you guys why he was called up.

0-7 is a bad result and he is on bad form, which Haghighi was in the same form for several years until his recent upswing.

It bothers me though that everyone thinks the 0-7 is all his fault without even seeing the game. Isn't the fact that his team scored 0 goals fishy?

You can all call him tokhmy or whatever, and I would agree with you if his team had lost 6-7. But his team obviously sucks. They are not doing great even after benching him. He is just a scapegoat, just as he was against Guinea.

Nobody even acknowledged that the two goals were off of breakaways caused by midfield lapses.

Who cares though, you guys obviously hate him, without any logic of circumstances. Hate a guy like Gucci until he saves our asses. Hate Davari still since he was never given a real shot at TM.

Find me one game we lost with Davari in goal when he had good defenders in front of him. Not Khanzadeh and Alenemeh. You can't. Other goalies always got to play with our top defense and didn't lose. He was fucked by having Haddadifar and Alenemeh and Khanzadeh protecting him, yet you all point the finger at him... Not those shit players.

Did no one read what I posted? It was an indoor friendly match on a field the size of a basketball court.

If the match ended 7-0, it shows that their strikers are worthless.

Looks like it was a small sided indoor tournament:
