To be honest this team is simply weak, it is no wonder why Davari concedes a tons of goals with this shitty defense. I am watching the game closely and there is no way he can be blamed for the 1-0, that was a good cross and a perfect tap-in.

But we will see what happens in the 2nd half of ET.

Davari looking much much better on crosses, set pieces and corners than the last time he was playing for Iran.

And now, Israeli striker Dabbour just accidentally blocked a goal of Grasshoppers instead of scoring it...

      1-0

Funny how every game I've watched of Davari, the goal is caused by some defensive lapse. Yet, if this were an Iran game right now I was watching, I can assure you that I could come to PFDC and see people bashing Davari for being a statue.

He's a decent keeper, and it's pretty laughable to say he is so much below Haghighi. They are both pretty crappy, but okay by Iranian standards.

This is the Iranian player tier.

Shit= Couldn't leave IPL if they tried.
Stupid Shit= Those who can leave IPL but don't.
Andranik tier= Should be out of IPL but aren't due to bs.
Crappy tier= In Europe but playing for crap teams getting relegated.
Okay tier= Bench warming at Fulham, Wolfsburg or Bayern (Dejagah, Karimi, Daei)

We've not yet had a Good or Great tier player sadly. Which is why we can never do anything at the World Cup. We beat a team full of shit tier players in the USA in France 1998.

Once we have 5-10 Good tier players, consistently playing in a top league team that isn't getting relegated, we might be an okay team. As of now, our best players are at Crap tier.

Let's hope that Sardar and a few others will develop into Good tier players.

As of now, Davari fits Team Melli's mold perfectly.

          Actually brother,

I have watched all his games at Grasshopper so far and the fact that this team is ranked only few spots above relegation zone is pathetic! Why? Looking at the squad they should be title contenders. Most of conceded goals was very bad defensive work from their center backs who looked pretty bad all the time.

Poor Davari is used as a scapegoat straight from day one the fans hate him, simply because they are having a horrible season they blame the GK for it. While their 2nd GK Vaso Vasic is nothing special! Hell, this guy does not even have an own Wiki page as he played in the Swiss 2nd division a long time.

Davari was never given a fair chance in Team Melli IMO. Mostly B players like Alenemeh were put in front of him during his first games, and he isn't exactly a good defender either. Same situation applies for Grasshoppers.

Second half of ET underway now. Overall he has had a good game with couple of nice saves.

This Grasshopper team has barely created any shots on goal from the 2nd half, just to give you an idea of how bad their midfield / forwards are.

Davari should at the very least be a back up for Haghihi, but it seems has lost all confidence in him! same applies for Beitashour! which surprises me!, he is a decent player, but I believe the fact he speaks very poor farsi played a factor in his omission from TM

CQ and IFF just got a bit too javgir with inviting Iranian players living abroad at that time.

It's 100% scapegoating Kiarash, that was my point.

Does anyone know how many goals Haghighi's team has conceded in the Portuguese league (where there are really only 3 quality teams, Benfica, Porto, and Sporting)?

44, more than any other team by almost 15 goals and Haghighi is the #1 there. Has he lost his confidence?

No, it's because he's on a shit team.

Grasshoppers are a good team on paper, but they play like shit this year. I saw that game with Zurich, they pass the ball like an Azadegan league team and finish almost as badly.

My point is, how come Davari conceding some goals = lost his confidence, despite being benched half of this season? How do you even know what's in his head when a stupid new coach benches him?

Haghighi is as "bad" as Davari. I'm using that term loosely, as I don't think either are bad by Iranian standards. Neither is great though. Biranvand may actually be better than both.

The point is, invite all 3 and make them duke it out. It can only make all 3 and TM stronger in the future, as Biranvand will push hard to get that #1 spot.

Not that Davari has been getting much game time recently. Just thought I'd provide an update on him. He is currently out due to a knee injury:

"Due to injury, falls from Daniel Davari. The goalie has suffered during training a capsule irritation in his left knee."

I would still invite him as our 3rd GK
He has absolutely no place in TM. There are atleast 5 IPL goal keepers that are superior to him, not including Haghighi. If he can manage to prove himself again in a respectable European league for one full season then we can talk about reinviting him.
