His value on Transfermarket dropped from 1.3 million to 500 thousand apparently

He has a contract with the Swiss side till 2016 but I hope he gets loaned to a new team, because he isn't lucky at Grasshopper. Maybe a move back to the 2.Bundesliga will turn into more playing time, a better form and more confidence.

I feel bad for him his career has taken a huge hit. Hopefully things will get better and he stays confident

As long as Haghighi performs good for TM, I dont have a problem.

IMO he made a bad decision going to an irrelevant league.

He should have stayed in Bundesliga, he had offers if I remember right,

I don't think anyone would have expected this though, his team used to finish first in the Swiss league and he had a new offer and went to try something new

Hayao Kawabe joins Wolverhampton Wanderers for £500,000 from Grasshopper Club Zurich.

How does that compare to our situation?

In contrast to our situation, Kaebi has an "unsuccessful trial" at Wolves and Azmoun's Wolves move collapses because they didn't want the obligation to pay £11,500,000 in the summer.

                  Sucks being a Pariah State.

Well I can promise you no Japanese would reject Liverpool and Real Betis and instead go to Rubin Kazan and Rostov…

                      Agents and sponsorships matter too.
Wolverhampton is basically Jorge Mendes FC.

Wow, talk about a career going south:

                        Daniel Davari:

                        2007–2009 Mainz 05 II 32 (0)
                        2009–2011 Eintracht Braunschweig II 12 (0)
                        2009–2014 Eintracht Braunschweig 92 (0)
                        2014–2015 Grasshoppers 10 (0)
                        2015–2017 Arminia Bielefeld 9 (0)
                        2017–2019 MSV Duisburg 7 (0)
                        2019–2020 Rot-Weiß Oberhausen 36 (0)
                        2020– Rot-Weiss Essen 1 (0)

Rot-Weiss Essen 1 - "Rot-Weiss Essen is a German association football club based in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club currently plays in the fourth-tier Regionalliga West, at the Stadion Essen."

If only he knew how to use his hands instead of his legs to block shots.

He was never good enough for TM, we all knew immediately after his bad game against Guinea.

                          Comment

He was lucky to join TM at a point when we basically had no good goalies.

The only reason the goalie situation in Iran improved is that the league banned foreign goalies. All of a sudden our clubs magically found good young goalies to use, instead of 4th rate garbage from Europe and Africa that made some agent rich. They've now reversed this ruling!

All of that could easily be arranged if we weren't one of the world's most pariah states. It's legit the guy's first season in Europe and he's already joining Wolves! Meanwhile, people like Saeid are busting ass in Europe since 2014 and we are praying that even a top Danish team gets linked with him, let alone sign him.

The pariah thing may not explain all. I guess it is mainly because iran football never really breakthrough in the world level : no superstar like nakata (nike ads), Son, nakamura, never went to the wc second round, we didn't even qualify for wc02 and wc10. Iran games against Spain or Argentina didn't transform us into Brazil or even Croatia suddenly (we lost both games at the end btw).we have only 2 wins at wc

If karimi, daei were world football stars (not just asian ones) and Iran went to second rounds, the story would be different, pariah state or not.

It's the same thing when you want to buy a product. I guess you are going to choose a brand which made its proof before
