after the world cup most of people here said "if CQ stays we will win the Asian Cup". Now CQ is staying and we are trying to blame IR if we don't win the cup?
We are capable of winning the Asian cup without a doubt. We have beaten Japan, Australia, South Korea before and we can do it again. We are Iran and we fear no one. Bring it on !!!

So believe me it is important to him to win it.
But for that, he needs to change his attitude. And as far as I can see, instead of a change of attitude and adopting a can-do mentality, he has already started the usual excuses (''Asia cup is tougher than qualifying for the WC'', ... etc. ).
As good as he is in PHYSICALLY preparing a team, he really sucks in the MENTAL preparation!
God help us.

2-By winning the cup we will get a chance to play 3 top quality competetive games in the Confederations Cup in 2017
and for us who never get to play any great friendly games, this will be very helpfull
3-It will bring back national confidence to our team and country
4-we will have an easier time testing some younger talents and developing them after winning the cup
5-Kaffashian and Quireosh must be smoking crack if they think only making the WC 2018 is important as our only goal
WC is where its at as far as real notoriety in world of football..! AC should be used primarily to test out young talents capable of replacing the many aging players in our senior squad now.

But i agree that one of the main reasons for not winning the main Asian cup is the IR. Their mismanagement has played a huge role.

Asian Cup has been Japan's party for years and they have won the last three of the four tournaments while Iran has failed to advance to the final since 1976. Japan will win this edition as usual considering they have the strongest squad by a mile and hired a better manager than previous one. Unlike Aguirre, Zaccheroni was a top league reject with no NT coaching experience.

We will not win any competitions as long as we are so weak emotionally and psychologically. What I mean are the penalty shoot-outs. The quality between the teams are getting smaller and smaller by day. You barely have any pushovers anymore. So the chances of getting into another sery of PKSO's after the group stages are really high, and everyone knows we greatly suck at it!
We should hire a German coach and a good psychologist just to train this (underestimated) part of the game with us!Persian Pride running through my veins!
Esteghlal for life!!
