Rumour: Ali Karimi back from Retirement...again.

    http://isna.ir/fa/news/93063118633/%...C-%D9%81%D8%B1

According to the above, Karimi has declined Derakshan's invitation to play again for PP, but he then appeared at their training sessions and said He's here to help PP as much as possible....?
    Thoughts?

I think this is an embarrassment. At what point do you save your status as a legend and keep true to your word?

You are 36 years old, retire and keep a good image.
There is nothing he can do to an ailing PP team, and this is coming from a PP fan.
I am a huge Karimi fan, my childhood memories are incomplete without his plays... but he cannot offer anything, whether as a player or part of the staff.

If Daei gets a coaching position so should Karimi. He probably has more footballing experience compared to more than half of IPL coaches.

So playing in IPL for 10 years automatically gets you a coaching job these days?

I should quit my coaching certifications and go try out for Bandar Anzali...

Did you forget he used to play 2 years in Bayern and one season in Leverkusen?
Most of our coaches have minimal playing experience and if they do it's in IPL.

And Daeis qualification were nothing more than Mahdivikia, Rahman Rezaei or Karimi. He might have had known more people in the clubs he coached, but that's about it.

By that logic, Kia and Hashemian should be the headcoaches of PP and SS immediately, and Pirlo should immediately be the Juventus head coach.

But no instead, they are focusing on the roots and getting their certifications in a proper environment and growing from the bottom up.

No mate, don't spread rumours. He said today on tv and in most papers that he's only training with them because Derakhshan asked him to come give some support to the youngsters and to keep fit. He's not gonna be back

Yes exactly. Some players go right into coaching. Check out Inzaghi, Zidane and Giggs. If anything Karimi deserves a coaching position. He has lots of experience that can help many players in our country.

Please explain how it's so terrible? A lot of the biggest players in soccer go into coaching after they retire. The reason for that is they gain knowledge through years of playing. Again Karimi deserves to be a coach just based on his footballing experience. He was a key player in Bayern and Bundensliga.

I'm not spreading any rumors, I'm translating exactly what the ISNA article said.

why are you guys unhappy about the return of AK? Although him going back on his word again is not the best for his image, but he is what we need right now, he is a important piece to our title chase if we want to get back into it. Right now we are lacking a playmaker, when sadeghian comes back karimi's role will be reduced a little but he will still help carry the load that will rest on sadeghians shoulders.

he doesn't deserve anything. He needs to work hard at the lower levels and rise gradually. No doubt he has potential, but his attitude isn't quite right to be a successful coach. If he for instance decided to come out of "retirement" and play for Perspolis, id lose respect for him big time.
And to counter your arguement, I would have to say there are plenty of big stars who became terrible managers. I'm not just talking about iranians, but world stars who influenced the world game greatly.

Agree with your point that he should start at the bottom, but at this point having Karimi be a care taker manager for the season isn't so bad. He takes over and manages the squad and if he performs well this season he gets another contract. Perfect for both parties until persepolis finds a decent coach and Karimi can give this a try.

Just because he is at the training it does not mean he is coming back, stop starting these rumors without facts, just to say something.

Bagheri did the same thing. He practiced and provided mentorship far after he retired. It is a nobel act if you ask me.
