actually this was not what I meant!

I have no problems with the players etc.... but this team had NO (zero) preparation time and friendlies.... so how can one expect them to do anything.
That's not something one can put under Vingada's hat, its rather under IFF's hat!

First of all Vingada got quite a few international friendlies before the tournament - 4 to be exact. In the same time period, Vietnam had 0 friendlies and I highly doubt the that Kyrgyzstan or many of the other teams who advanced to the 2nd round had more that many international friendlies in the 3 months leading up to the games.

Secondly, friendlies don't have to all be against U-23 national teams, they can be against any team really - IPL, Azadegan, 2nd division teams from around the gulf, etc. Most leagues were on break during the summer, so it wouldn't have been hard for Vingada to arrange friendlies if he really wanted to. Ammah khob na hemmat boodo na gheyrat!

3 defeat
4 draw.
TM U22 played 2 games in Jordan, 2 games in Armenia , one game in China. Vingada's team scored only 3 goals in 5 games but most alarming... during those 5 friendly games iranian players got 2 red cards.these are before going to Incheon. Including Incheon 5 goals in 7 games & 3 Red cards.

Apparently, he already is. Plays in Super Lig (highest division) in Turkey, has had lost of interest from top European clubs, plays in Iraq main NT and won the 2013 Asian Young Footballer of the Year award!

It's nice (and at the same time sad for us Iranians) to see even war torn countries are producing such talents and advancing further in this competition. For the love of God, Palestine's not even a country yet, they get aid from our government and they still managed to make the 2nd round.

در لابه لای اخبار غرور انگیز و شیرین کسب مدال طلای تیراندازان بانو که کام همه ما را شیرین کرد و به برهوت مدال ما در اینچئون پایان داد، البته اخبار ناگوار و تلخی هم وجود داشت. تلخ تر از زهر؛ آنقدر که عیش ما بابت طلای خوشرنگ و ناب نجمه خدمتی را ناقص کرد و اجازه نداد تا حلاوت این طلای 24 عیار حتی 24 ساعت زیر زبانمان بماند. اتفاقات تلخ البته تاثیرگذاری بیشتری دارند و طعم گس و منزجر کننده آن بیشتر کام را آزار می دهد و زیر زبان می ماند.

اتفاق تلخ روی تاتامی جودوی بازی های آسیایی اینچئون رخ داد. سالنی کوچک و محقر در قلب شهر که برای رسیدن به آن باید نزدیک به 40 دقیقه از پرس سنتر در راه باشی. مسابقات جودو در اوزان مختلف در چند روز برگزار می شود و از همان روز نخست رقابت ها گروه خبری و رسانه ای ایران هر روز این همه مسافت را از صبح علی الطلوع طی می کرد و تا انتهای شب در سالن بدون آب و غذا و در شرایط دشوار بیتوته می نمود تا اخبار درخشش این پهلوانان را به تهران مخابره کند غافل از اینکه این رفقا پهلوان پنبه هایی بیش نبودند! مردانی که برابر رقبای خود همچون برگ خزان فرو می ریختند و یک به یک از گردونه رقابت ها حذف می شدند تا شب دست از پا درازتر و با تنی کوفته و خسته به محل اقامت خود بازگردیم.


در روزهای ابتدایی و شکست های متوالی امثال بهرامیان این امید را داشتیم که حداقل در روز پایانی مسابقات با حضور امیر قاسمی نژاد و جواد محجوب به یک مدال حداقل برنز برسیم اما این انتظار بیهوده بود. نه تنها مدال که آنچه روی تاتامی اینچئون رخ داد به نوعی تحقیرآمیز بود. حقارتی که در روز آخر به اوج رسید و آبرو و اعتبارمان را یکجا بر باد داد.

آوار این حقارت از عصر آغاز شد. وقتی محمد جمالی در وزن 100- کیلو برابر یوشیدا از ژاپن به سختی شکست خورد و به گروه بازنده ها رفت تا تحقیر شود. آنجا که جمالی در رپه شارژ برای کسب برنز برابر لخاگواسورن از مغولستان روی تشک رفت و ضربه فنی شد. حریف مغولی وقتی ناتوانی جمالی را دید، مثل یک سردار فاتح که سربازی را به اسارت گرفته، روی سینه او نشست و برای تماشاگران کره ای ابراز احساسات به خرج داد! جالب اینکه این صحنه به اندازه ای تحقیرآمیز بود که داور مجبور به مداخله شد و با زحمت و خواهش و تمنا لخاگواسورن را از روی سینه جمالی بلند کرد! یک شکست تحقیرآمیز به معنای واقعی کلمه

اما آوار حقارت به همین جا ختم نشد. حقارت بزرگتر تازه در راه بود.
وقتی در 100- کیلو جواد محجوب یکی از امیدهای اصلی مدال ایران و ستاره این سال های جودو روی تاتامی رفت. ستاره ای کاغذی که در اینچئون کاغذی بودن خود را به بهترین شکل به رخ کشید. وقتی در برابر ماکسیم راکوف کمتر از 30 ثانیه ضربه فنی شد که در نوع خودش یک رکورد به شمار می رفت. رکوردی که بی تردید اگر ما هم با این بدن ناآماده و ناآشنا به جودو روی تاتامی می رفتیم، قادر به خلق آن نبودیم!
در رپه شارژ کلکسیون حقارت کامل شد. وقتی آقای ستاره برای کسب مدال برنز مقابل گوهام چو از کره جنوبی به روی تاتامی رفت و حریف کره ای در جشنواره ای از فنون زیبا او را با نتیجه خیره کننده 111- صفر شکست داد تا یکی از قاطع ترین بردها در جودو ثبت شود. یک شکست مطلق و تمام عیار که آینه کاملی از حقیقت این سال های جودوی ایران بود. شکستی که این حقیقت را به وضوح فریاد زد. جودو با این شکست ها آبرو را روی تاتامی اینچئون دفن کرد تا حقارت را در یک روز شیرین با تمام وجود احساس کنیم. حقارت که نیشخندهای خبرنگاران حاضر در پرس سنتر در واکنش به این نتایج و این شکست ها درد و تلخی آن را بیشتر و بیشتر می کرد.

وقتی پهلوان پنبه های جودو در اینچئون در حال خلق این شاهکار بی بدیل بودند ما بی اختیار یاد آن بانوان تیرانداز افتادیم که به دلیل کمبود امکانات و نداشتن بودجه در اردو حتی از خرید لباس استاندارد هم عاجز بودند و در اینچئون بعد از یک ناکامی خفیف اشک می ریختند و از شدت گریه قادر به صحبت نبودند. هر نوع مقایسه ممنوع است!

I didnt say "lack of", I said "ZERO" = "nil" = "nothing".

the team wasn't even selected or released 2 weeks before the games (correct me if I am wrong, cause thats what I read).
So how could they do any proper preparation...?

I think that's typical in every league though. Most teams, anywhere in the world, aren't going to release their players right before or at the start of the season. As far as I know, we played quite a few preparatory games between July and September, more than most other teams. But I could be wrong too.

I listed all 3 trips & games to Armenia, Jordan & China.

In the last game vs China before Incheon game 7 Extra players were included. I have posted these before

BTW boys and girls, Kyrgyzstan lost to Jordan 2-0 in the knock-out round and is out. But more importantly, Vietnam lost to UAE 3-1 (they're also out). Just goes to show how weak Iran's group really was.

So I'm still failing to see how some people are making the argument that working as CQ's assistant will make a great coach out of Karimi some day. At best, he's looking at being another Vingada and I guess we can look forward to losing to Sri Lanka at some point at the rate we're going.
