Khosro Heydari is not even TM material, at least not anymore. Simple as that.

Too old, to slow and non-existent on the wings when it matters.

Montazeri is a great C. defender but he is way too Slow to play a modern WB position with any acceptable degree of reliability ..! He woulda been grossly exposed @ WC too if he didn't have a host of other players covering his ass in the back..!
Since Kaabi departure, I'm yet to see an Overall more reliable WB in TM than Khosro ..! one who could cover up& down the RW & combine with teammates & shake off his markers for Full 90 min strong on a relatively consistent basis ..!

Well at least for Asian standards, Milan has mor than proven himself with solid performances to say the least for TS in last years ACL! So that will cut it for me ATM, definitely more than a heydari past his prime who has nothing left worth to offer to TM IMO....if we want attack at the RB spot we should go for Milad, defense beita, or overall stud Montazeri

No way is Montazeri to slow to be a wingback did you miss him in Brazil?! He was running up and down the flank more than anyone not just in our team but against Argentina and Nigeria too. Definitely an all around better option at the RB post than heydari....not even comparable!

I agree. To me he epitomizes all that is wrong with Iranian football these days. I think coaches like him because he runs so much but usually he doesn't bring anything to the table. It's highly amusing to me that on these forums people used to compare him to philipp lahm. lol WHAT?

It's that type of awareness that wins games.
We tend to think we have many chances in games, but we only have a few and it's what we do with those few chances that matter.
Lets just say this, that should've been a cross to Gucci, which should've landed Gucci in a goal scoring position, the rest is up to Gucci. In that way, it was indeed a terrible play by Khosro. I can't believe any professional football player would handle that situation so badly..

I agree with you about Montazeri, he was a beast in the world cup. But I'm not sure about Beitashour when it comes to defense.. He seems way too passive and gives the players too much room, at least from what I've seen.

And I don't get all the critique about Khosro being too slow. He is a lot of things, but I wouldn't really say slow.. Especially when you compare him to TM where we only had like Ashkan and Jahanbakhsh and maybe Hajsafi and Pouladi who were speedy players.

^ It's just the current trend to say that. Heydari is one of our fastest players actually, and one of the best dribbler with the ball. He along with Dejagah and maybe Jahanbakhsh, are actually the best ones that would be successful in a 1vs1 sitaution in a match. But once someone says he is slow, all the rest of PFDC follow like a sheep and say he's slow

its not just this video, I've seen him drag ass and struggle to keep up with opposition wingers countless times when CQ lined him up as a wingback.

Khosrow Heydari was a good choice when there were no others. As Hadi once mentioned 1-2 years ago, Heydari wouldn't even make the bench if the likes of a fit Mahdavikia and Kaebi were available.

With the need to slowly start rebuilding Team Melli, there will be several stages that will require some of the veterans to be cut. One such stage is the lead up to the Asian Cup and another is right after the Asian Cup. As far as I'm concerned, if we're to make even 5-6 changes from our World Cup squad, then Heydari is one of those that is expendable. The others include: Rahman Ahmadi, Ahmad Alenemeh, Hossein Mahini, Ghasem Hadadifar, and Bakhtiar Rahmani (due to injury).

In contrast, those players would be replaced by the likes of: Alireza Beiranvand, Sardar Azmoun, Shojai Khalilzadeh, Soroush Rafiei, Mehdi Sharifi, and Mehrdad Jamaati.

                          Chakerim.

Here's a random picture reminding you all of your childhoods in Iran (or summers that you would visit). This has absolutely nothing to do with the thread.
