it was a political invitation and I am not sure if he will make the last team. CQ did this to silent some people for now. It's just my opinion.

CQ had said last year that he would probably invite those who had abandoned the campaign after World Cup.
          This is not surprising.

His absence in the WC had nothing to do with his abilities as a GK.

              IMO, chronological order should be:
              1.Alireza Haghighi
              2.Daniel Davari
              3.Alireza Beiranvand
              4.Sosha Makani
              5.Hamed Lak
agree with everything but makani, come on bro, he has easily had the most sooti's and been the worst GK in the league IMO this season. its sad to see nilson on the bench the last few games....Mohsen forouzan (esteghlal, most impressive saves out of any GK in the league this year so far) iman sadeghi (malavan), hamed fallahzadeh (saipa), and mojtaba roshangar (paddideh) have all been in far better form than makani.

but in regards to rahmati, he is nowhere near the top 3 GKs in iran ATM, im pretty sure everyone acknowledges it besides the few rahmati fanatics + clipsport.

he is way past his prime (which was 2008-2010) and cant offer anything to TM.....especially not in comparison to haghighi, beiranvand, and forouzan who are all younger, better, more athletic, and smarter than him.

I wonder how serious this is. After all, Rahmati did lose his spot at SS to Forouzan and he was in declining form for the past two seasons.

But mentality is also important. He may be more prepared mentally than other keepers. I guess we shall just wait and see.

Your trolling has escaped the Beitashour threads, huh?

Regardless of his behaviors and attitude, Mehdi Rahmati is the best keeper in Iran and we should never forget his services to the national team. There is no guarantee yet whether he will be in the final list or not. If CQ keeps him in the final list he should reject. This is what I do if I were him.

I love Haghighi but come guys, the reason we did well against Argentina was because of C.Q.'s great 9 man defensive strategy.

Why is this news? CQ himself, right before the WC, talked to Rahmati and told reporters that his "ban" would be lifted after the WC. If Rahmati out-performs the other GKs in practice, I'm all for him having the #1 spot. He already paid the ultimate price by being kept out of the WC. There's no reason for us to be bloodthirsty or vindictive. If he's worth a shit, CQ will invite him to the final squad. And if he has a renaissance and finds his old form, I would love to have him over slow Davari and even Haghighi.

I suppose you use that same logic to explain your absence from pro soccer in comparison to Beitashour's constant presence and making it to the World Cup.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

I don't think CQ would have invited him just to cut him. After all the drama that's went on, I bet Mehdi will start our next official game. For all those bashing his performance, don't forget his last game was the game against SK in Tehran where he single handedly saved us.

His last game was against Uzbekistan in Tehran where he costed us the 3 points by not coming out of his goal during a setpiece which allowed the Uzbek player to freely tap the ball in.
