Is he anywhere close to being called up to TM camp? Even as a third keeper? Haven't seen him goaltending as of late.

I would also be interested to know from someone who has followed him what level they rate him. Is he TM material? what are his weaknesses?

i think Amin, a mod here, is friends with him and keeps a close tab on his football progress..!!?
wonder his thoughts on the guy..!!?
im fairly certain he would be ecstatic to receive a call up by TM..!!
it would be nice if Carlos sent guys like him and Ryan T. etc an informal invites for trial while TM is having a prep camp in Europe..!! this way he can see first hand if they can cut it at that level and/or be of some use for future of his TM...!!
this way he would know ahead of time if they are worth the hassles of getting official call-ups and going through all that media drama and immigration/sarbazi paperwork..!

If I am not mistaken he is about 6' tall which is quite short for a GK. He is even shorter than Mehdi Rahmati (6'1") who has been called short by some people including Ferdosipour.

His career has been far from spectacular, I would only call him up if he becomes an established goalkeeper in the Eredivisie. Wish him best of luck in the play-offs for promotion.

I do no think he is short for a Keeper.. some of the best goal keepers in the world are not even 6'0"

Jorge Campos 5'7" - Mexico's legendary keeper with 130 caps. - Fun fact: He was a forward in his first season of pro. life.
David Ospina 6'0" - 50 caps for Columbia and Arsenal's second keeper

i agree..!! if his team gets promoted to Eredivisie and he gets frequent starts then he could expect a likely call-up..! till then highly doubt it, especially nowadays which we have a bunch of decent young keepers in contention for TM minutes..!

Rahmati surely is taller than 6'1".. Someone probably edited his height on Wikipedia, before it used to say something between 6'2"-6'3". I think he is most likely around 6'2".

Well "friends" is a big word
I know him, he knows me, we have trained together and played football together a few times and I used to be really close with 2 of his cousins a long time ago and that's about it.

I've been living in Almere for about 2 years now and they play their home games about 200 meters from my house, but I've only been once to their games (when AZ and Jahanbakhsh played them - Alireza scored a beauty that game btw). The last time I saw him was a while ago by accident in the center of Almere as I was walking with my daughter and he was waiting for his wife. We talked a little, mostly about Iranian football, I wished him luck and that's about it.

He's got potential, he's above average with his feet for a gk, but I agree with Kiarash on this. His career has not been really spectacular and except for like a half season fixed in Iran he has no experience on the highest level anywhere. Personally I think we have better options in Iran. But hey, you never know how things will progress in the future. If they can promote to the Eredivisie, which I HIGHLY doubt will happen, and he can develop himself on that level, then he might be an option for TM. But again, I doubt all of that will ever happen.

                    Anyway, good luck to him.

According to Dutch source, Heerenveen is interested in regaining Agil Etemadi:

"Besides Foor and Schaars is also Almere City FC goalkeeper Agil Etemadi on the radar of Heerenveen, where Willem II coach Jurgen Streppel from next season in charge. Etemadi (29) comes with Almere Friday night in the playoffs in action against Tilburg. The goalkeeper was in the past under contract at Heerenveen (2007-10), but then did not perform in the first team."

^ Good news. Hopefully they acquire him and he becomes a regular there and gets called up to TM. Its about time and a long time due that he still hasn't played for our national team. The other best scenario would be Almere City gets promoted and he stays in the team playing as a regular, but of course security and stability in a higher club is always favorable.

Hard to believe he will become 1st goalkeeper there, but he said he is leaving Almere City for sure because he is unsatisfied with the club's offer for a new contract.

Great news, the tm goalie position is still up for grabs. We may see him invited soon to TM if he gets progressing.

Damn Almere city got hammered in the second leg 5-2, not a pretty score line for Etemadi but since I haven't seen the goals I can't say if he's at fault or not

So no promotion for Etemadi's team....would be cool if he gets picked up by Heerenveen
