That is true we can beat all 3 and 4 teams but UAE and Qatar are much improved,i believe we will have a very hard time with both
    of them.
In the QF I much rather play Australia because I think we can beat them easier than S.Korea

Here's the difference between my opinions and yours (and why mine is more valid, frankly). My opinions are informed by facts and observations. I draw reasonable inferences from facts. You, on the other hand, have a pre-determined agenda (obviously, as you have shown over the years, your agenda is that you are jealous of coaches and think that you know more than any professional coach) and selectively cherry-pick facts that suit your pre-determined narrative.

LOL @ your argument that the players only praise CQ because they're afraid of being dropped from the squad. You really think that Ashkan is afraid of being dropped? That Gucci is afraid of being dropped?

And I'm fully on-board with CQ's appraisals of our football. he's been spot-on every time. because only a delusional person (ahem) would think that our football is anything special. We are a country of 80 million football-crazy people and we can't even field 1-2 players in European 1st divisions. Our IPL teams consistently get their asses kicked in domestic play.

I live in the real world, i look at realities and facts, and therefore, YES, my opinions are more well-founded and supported than your wild, agenda-driven analyses. Not all opinions are created equal my friend.

Yes I have, as coach of womens regional team I won three provincial titles, and 1 national title at the U-17 division. Even so, I don't believe I know a shade of how to prepare a national team, let alone one with TM's challenges. Still somethings defy logic, while others breed it...the way we organize and play friendlies is contrary to centuries of tactics and professional development. I get being a visionary, but this is just off the wall stuff sometimes.

Is it possible that we are not professional? I mean which other country with a pro league does not broadcast its games? Players get shifted to military teams during season? Only handful of teams have semi-decent facilities? Truth is never shared and rumours are reported as facts?

This thread should be renamed "terrible expectations of a team that hasn't done anything since 1976"

The same country that paid a single point earning World Cup coach with the worst ball possession rate in the history of the entire WC across 3 matches, $2+ million dollar contract extension subject to review that took more than half of a continental championship preparation time to get signed!

My good man, we've been in the semi-finals of the Asian Cup 5 out of 9 times since 1976 and the only times we got knocked out in the quarters it was against Korea either in extra-time or in a penalty shootout.

First of all, how is that considered not having "done anything"? Secondly, if that's indeed not having done anything, how is wanting to at least maintain the same level of not doing anything a terrible expectation?!

You all will sound ridiculous if I bring these posts up if CQ does well at the Asian Cup.

if you consider that an achievement then I guess Iran has done something. I would like to congratulate all iranians for these semi finals appearances in the powerhouse continent of asia

Not sure what you say is any different from what I say but we are keep going in circles. We are footballing nation in decline in terms of quality of the football we produce domestically. The only way to stay relevant is highly tactical, strategic and preparation focused expensive coaches who spend heaps of time teaching players basics. As I said many time before if we had a good production line in IPL we would never need an expensive national team coach,
AC U17 and Asian games clearly showed what level our players are most of them on pro contracts.

If you don't consider it an achievement then we should easily make the semis at least this time.

I personally would rather focusing on a viable replacement for ageing stars. The CQ contract will clearly force him to the most cautious display to ensure SF qualification and save his job, So we will get another honour but no glory.

Bringing on youth must be done during the WCQ, not the Asian Cup. The Asian Cup isn't a practice tournament, we need to use the best available squad to achieve the best possible result.
