With the wealth of talent we have in the forward spot ATM, I think it would be silly not to. There are several combinations that could be used for different purposes against our opponents and I think it is our best chance to do some serious damage in January.
I've seen a lot of ppl wanting Azmoun as a CAM, but I think given his physique/height that would be silly. I understand he I has great vision but his height and strength combination makes him much more useful up front.
Personally, I'd like to see CQ use a 4-4-2 diamond or a 4-2-2-2.
Against slower defenses such as UAE/Bahrain: any combination of Azmoun-Sharifi or Sharifi-Ansarifard or Azmoun-Ansarifard would be deadly....their quickness and speed can expose a lot of slower defenses. Don't get me wrong I want Reza to start, but I think the potential of these combos are sky high for Asian standards....should be tested in upcoming friendlies.
Against a more balanced defense such as potential knock out round openings like Iraq/Jordan/Japan: Reza/Azmoun or Reza/Ansarifard.
Bottom line: it's time to make the change to a two striker system.
