Im not sure why all of you are crying like there are 20 players missing that deserved to be on the list. There is literally 2 or 3 sharifi and khalatbari for sure and maybe beiranvand. Overall a pretty good list with most players deserving to be there based on their form.
Shahin saghebi is a very promising young player who is similar to khalatbari when he was younger
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=hpG5_sJ3YlM

    He is number 11

The list has too many offensive players anyhow. He can realistically bring 6-7 of them to Asian Cup, in the curent list are 10.

I would have surely included Khalatbari. Hopefully he will be on CQ's radar for the next friendly.

Shojaei keeps getting invited b/c 1) CQ thinks that if you spend a few years in Europe then you are automatically 100x better than anyone in Iran. OR 2) b/c he is good friends with Nekounam.

And for those who are wondering why Nouri, Khanzadeh, and Makani were invited. It's to appease the Persepolis fan base.

unfortunately, none of us have the capability to watch many of the IPL games (most recently no one could) and the statistics on all players are inaccurate and incomplete. This leaves us with what a few questions?

Is this an experimental camp to try new players that have done well recently? Maybe, but we are getting so close and there is no time to experiment.
Will CQ be more offensive? Yes. According to JB, "the practices and the games in Portugal were very much attacking football so we can be ready for Australia."
Does AK8 have any role in recommending new players? I am sure some, because he is attending as many games as he can.
Why have M. Nouri in the line up? He is more physical and we don't have many options. Plus he has been performing well in PP in the last few weeks.
Why are some people upset for this selection? Our opinions really doesn't matter to CQ but has die hard fans, we want to see exciting football.

Maybe because players that doesn't deserve are here. before criticizing some of the garbage from IPL, just focusing on a player that keep on being inviting despite awful performance with TM in a row (and despite playing in one of the most competitive league) and now rotting in an unknown gutter clubs.

Disgusting, the selection isn't based on merit

Yes, u hit the nail on the head here keano Jaan.

Guys like khanzadeh and Makani are playing extremely poorly this year, probably the worst stretch in their careers thus far!

I must say though, I'm not opposed to mamad Nouri unlike some of our friends here given his current form, probably the only perspolisi playing consistently and when in good form he is a very solid player....I don't have a problem with him.

The biggest unanswered question for me though is the inclusion of gordani, who really has no upside whatsoever! Tractor is one particular team I have followed closely since their promotion to the IPL, and I can tell you that team is loaded with young talent just as much as any other team in Iran, and how he chose the least talented, one of the oldest, and most useless players like gordani is just beyond me! It can't be political because he's never had an opportunity to establish a relationship with CQ, he is old, slow, and just a very bad player overall!

CQ deserves a good amount of criticsm here and I think ppl who believe otherwise aren't being reasonable. Their argument will be "the core of the team hasn't changed blah blah blah we still have the same starting XI" but this is supposed to be a transitional period for us and we are seeing no transition! Very worrying for me!

Lol at some of the choices in this list.

Realistically though, our starting 11 is basically set, so the other 12 players don't really matter too much.

I know we are just being reactionary at this point, but this is just an experimental list, and I HIGHLY doubt that this will be the final list before AC.

Mohammad Nouri is probably retiring soon, so maybe CQ wanted to give him a final game with TM before AC. Nouri seems like an Andranik type person who the players enjoy being around. He's a jokester it seems, so even though we all want to commit suicide when he is in the lists, he might bring an intangible happiness to the squad by being there. Again, I highly doubt he will get a second of play in AC, so just keep that in mind before getting angry.

Also, with Khalatbari, it was highly doubtful that he would play in AC either. He's great and I love him as much as you all do, but in the wealth of strikers and Wingers we have in TM, he just got lost in the shuffle.

Seems the starting 4 attackers will be between these 6 players:

Dejagah, Ghoochannejhad, Shojaei, Ansarifard, Jahanbakhsh, and Azmoun.

I know most would want Khalatbari instead of Shojaei, but in CQ's mind Shojaei is the one to go with. I don't think it's a conspiracy as most say.

Literally a month before the WC in Brazil, CQ was kissing Khalatbari's head like they were best friends. I highly doubt they have beef.

Sharifi is truly missing. Keeper choice is poor as Makani and Fouroozan are nothing special and blunder-friendly. I would have prefered Rahmati and Beiranvand honestly.

Defender choice is pretty ok for most part, I don't understand Gordani either, but the rest is ok. Khanzadeh can rid sometimes but we have no choice we need to give younger players some experience. At the end of the day, if we have Hashem destroyer in the team, the rest won't matter to me.

Mamad Nouri critics are funny because he is a better Attacking mid in my eyes than Masoud (nowadays), and is also pretty creative, good passing and links up play nicely. With Karimi gone, Jabbari retiring Internationally, Masoud no comment, we have no much options in Iran for a playmaker, and Nouri is what we have that looks the most like an AMF. He has lots of experience with TM, AC experience, good relationship with CQ. We all know that Queiroz is not a "risker" and prefers older experienced players than youngsters (unfortunately for the most part), so as I said don't get surprised to see him in the final cut. However Masoud should be there in the list anyways as he can be useful against Japan, Korea and Australia.

I think Khalilzadeh should've been there, but I am happy with the inclusion of Ghafouri again, he's a good player. Also happy with Rafiei, I hope he makes the final cut.
It also seems that CQ won't include too many young players before the Asian Cup. Guys like Yaghoub Karimi, Sharifi, Mosalman, Sadeghian and others should all be inserted slowly in the first squad in the qualifiers probably

I understand it may be late for these guys in the Asian Cup, but why hasn't CQ invited this Ahmadzadeh guy from TractorSazi? He is a technical player who seems very cool, composed, as well as confident. When people say Iran has no talent, I say thats bc CQ often chooses some sketchy players at times and I fail to understand why.
KB for instance is one of the greatest players Iran has produced talent wise, and has performed brilliantly for TM ALWAYS. Sharifi is a goal scorer, and be should given a chance instead of Heydari, who has not been playing well since 2012.
The only players I'm excited to see are Pouraliganji, Rafiei, and abdollahzadeh. Sabeghi seems decent, but I feel there are better players then him at the moment. Of course, I would still like to see him play in a TM jersey so to get a better view of his play.
btw, whats with Shojaei being on the TM list? I was curious about Nouri, but Shojaei has time and again failed to produce anything for Iran.

Here's my theory on the inclusion of PP players (and again, it's just a theory).

The derby was originally supposed to be played a few days after the South Korea match however it was delayed given that a couple of Esteghlal players will probably be starting in that match. However, even if the derby date as been moved, an Esteghlal loss would cause Ghalenoei to start complaining over how his players had no chance to rest and were exhausted as a result of the Team Melli camp. The only politically smart move was to invite several Persepolis players at the expense of better players from smaller clubs. This way, players from both clubs will be exposed to the Team Melli camp and nobody can open their mouth after the derby.

That being said, it does no justice to someone like Beiranvand, who has been performing excellently but is replaced by a horrendous Makani.

As for Gordani (LB) and Khanzadeh (RB), I can only hope that they're one time call-ups in the place of Beitashour (injured) and Pouladi (military issues).
