If TM plays the only 5 friendly games that IFF claims ,they have secured so far then i believe this would be a descent preparation
    for us.
That means if these games dont get canceled and they go thru,South Korea,South Africa,Kenya,Palestine and Iraq then i am soso happy
but who is to say if any of them will stand !!!!????

If Iran ever played the friendlies we were promised, Ali Daie's record would have been 1090 instead.

I would be happy with a decent loss for TM and not an embarrassing score line since this match is of extraordinary importance for the Koreans but not for Iran.

They lost 2 consecutive matches vs Iran, in additional Iran is the Asias nr 1 at the present. They will fight against Iran as if they would play for the WC. They,ll be out to demolish and embarrass Iran by this match, be prepared to this. When I still see crap like Shojaee and few others in the Iranian line up, I do realize that the Koreans will manage to embarrass us by this match with ease.

A good friendly maybe to discover the TM,s shortcomings but a stupid one at the same time from a strategical view of point.

"South Korea Men's football team to leave for Middle East for friendlies
          2014/11/10 09:31

SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean men's national football team is scheduled to depart for the Middle East later Monday for upcoming friendly matches against Jordan and Iran.

These two matches will be the final friendlies of the year for South Korea, coached by former German international Uli Stielike. They are also the country's last scheduled matches before the AFC Asian Cup tournament in January.

South Korea will visit Amman to play Jordan on Friday and will be in Tehran to take on Iran next Tuesday.

Stielike has put together a 22-man roster that features seven players based in Europe, six in the Middle East, three in Japan and two in China. Four others are playing in the domestic K League Classic.

The much-maligned striker Park Chu-young is back on the national team for the first time since his disastrous FIFA World Cup showing under Stielike's predecessor, Hong Myung-bo. Park, who'd spent a few months without a club after the World Cup, was rescued from the brink of football oblivion by Saudi Arabian club al-Shabab, who signed him to a one-year deal last month. Park scored in his first match for the club on Oct. 17 and has been rounding into form.

In explaining his selection of Park, Stielike said he'd like to see the 29-year-old in person before setting the roster for next year's Asian Cup.

Park has been one of the country's most polarizing athletes in recent years. He has scored some momentous international goals for South Korea -- Park leads the current unit with 24 goals in 66 matches -- but has also angered the public with his decision to delay his mandatory military service. The oft-aloof one has also had a bumpy relationship with the press for his frequent refusal to give interviews.

Joining Park are familiar faces, including Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng, who was named Stielike's first captain in two October friendlies. Bayer Leverkusen winger Son Heung-min is on a roll after scoring twice in the team's UEFA Champions League group stage match last week.

Both Ki and Son played in the World Cup this year. Other World Cup members who also made the team this time include Mainz 05 midfielder Koo Ja-cheol, captain of the World Cup squad, and El Jaish forward Lee Keun-ho, who scored South Korea's first goal of the tournament against Russia.

Stielike will be without two front-line strikers, as Jeonbuk Hyundai's Lee Dong-gook and Ulsan Hyundai's Kim Shin-wook were left off the team this time with injuries.

Lee has been ruled out for the season with a muscle tear in his right calf, and Kim is out with a broken tibia.

Stielike earlier said he was pessimistic about their recovery in time for the Asian Cup, lamenting South Korea's lack of alternatives in the striker position.

Stielike's defense corps has a mix of veterans and up-and-comers. Cha Du-ri is the elder statesman on the team at 34, and he continues to show athleticism and speed at right fullback.

Jang Hyun-soo, who captained South Korea's under-23 team to a gold medal at this year's Asian Games, is expected to get an opportunity to shine at the senior level. Hong Jeong-ho and Kim Young-gwon, the centerback tandem who had a mediocre World Cup campaign in Brazil, could have a chance to redeem themselves before the new coach."

Despite all our short comings, I doubt SK can do such a thing. They have never been able to win with an embarrassing margin. Whereas Iran has beaten SK with very very painful results. Besides, they have a lot more at stake here than we do. They need to get their mojo back - we don't.

My only worry, is that the SK's can be very dirty when their pride is at stake. I do not want any TM players injured before the AC.

"Football - Stielike hoping to lead Koreans to first win in Iran

South Korea coach Uli Stielike hopes a tough trip to the Middle East to face Jordan and Iran will be the perfect opportunity to sharpen his squad ahead of January's Asian Cup.

Stielike took over in September after Hong Myung-bo resigned in the wake of a woeful World Cup campaign and guided his new side to a win over Paraguay and defeat to Costa Rica in October.

South Korea, who have been grouped with hosts Australia, Oman and Kuwait in the first stage of the Jan. 9-31 Asian Cup, take on Jordan on Friday before travelling to Tehran to face the Iranians the following Tuesday.

"Regardless of where we play, I am just glad to be back with the players after five weeks," Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted Stielike as saying late on Monday before the team left for Jordan.

"These are our two final matches before the Asian Cup, and if we win these matches, it will be a huge confidence boost for our players."

While it is far to early to judge Stielike's impact on the Koreans, they have impressed under the former German international and will fancy their chances of ending a miserable run against the Iranians away from home.

South Korea have never beaten Iran on home soil, and the relationship between the two became fractious during 2014 World Cup qualifiers after the Koreans complained about training facilities in Tehran.

"I know South Korea's history against Iran on the road," Stielike added. "I think this will be our opportunity for payback."

The 59-year-old coach has injected a much-needed dose of confidence into the squad and been rewarded for picking young players, but he raised eyebrows by including struggling striker Park Chu-young and goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong in his latest squad.

Park and Jung both disappointed in Brazil, where the Koreans failed to win a game and were eliminated in the group stage.

"I've gone through some difficult times but I've tried to stay positive," said Jung, who conceded five goals in two games against Russia and Algeria before being dropped for the Koreans final group game against Belgium.

"As a goalkeeper, I think it's important to communicate well with the defenders. I've got to do my absolute best.""

how come all our other sports can get all kinds of friendlies with various countries but we cant get our damn football team to play someone decent once a year at least? i mean s. korea is a good team but we know them more than any other country in the world by now. this doesnt help our progress much. just a desperate preparation for the knockout stages of asian cup.

This game should be a good representation of CQ's tactics for the next 4 years.
