He has stopped their crosses like 3 times among other things. CQ seems to like him too, which I think means a lot more than your subjective view.

He also made two great crosses straight to the Koreans in the last 2 minutes.

Dejagah Hajsafi jb Gucci pretty good so far, I would bring in azmoun for shojaei, he's not looking focused

Bright spots: Haghighi with some GREAT saves. Hajsafi with a GREAT read and save. JB had 2-3 touches, won 2 corners. Nice to see Ando playing up a bit. Ashkan had a good half. Gucci with a nice volley.

Negatives: Shojaei. Shojaei. Shoajei. Defensive game plan.

Neutral. Everything and everyone else.

i thought it was a pretty good half by iran. considering this was our first competitive game since June 21st!!!

- Haghighi is a total beast

- Dejagah has not lost his form as I expected.

- weakest performance I have seen both from Reza and ando in their TM careers. Especially ando. wtf happened to him? He's fat, slow, and should have scored....I'd never would've thought I'd ever see such a poor performance from ando.

Shojaei still holds on to the ball for too long, still is a slow-thinker, still can't pass, still can't get into good positions. Did you see him playing with the ball in our half just now? For fuck's sake.

Haghighi looks more confident than he did in the WC and has proven to be reliable so far.
Montazeri is a God
Dejagah and Jahanbaksh are energetic as ever, Dejagah creating some good chances.
Heydari has had some very good crosses

Korea over all look the more poilshed team though, Iran took very long to get their rhythm going.
The whole hoof the ball to Gooch as if he's Gomis or Dzeko and can hold on to the ball up-field idea is stupid

There was a little case of our team dropping way too deep in the beginning, but thats always the first 20 minutes of a game to gel together..However certain players on our team do not allow us to gel together. Shojaei is a total mess in this system, he lacks the defensive composure and has been shit in attack. Heydari is another headless chicken... his passes are easily anticipated and he is not fast to recover, not to mention clumsy.

Expect a more attacking TM in the second half if i read CQ's plans properly..

Finally, Haghighi has been great in goal..after so many years.. I am relieved to have someone like him.

We should see a few subs... Shojaei and Heydari..
