Team Melli Beach football team will compete in the 4th Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand which begins on November 14th. Iran won the 2012 edition of this Beach football tournament.

"4th Asian Beach Games athletes all arrive in Phuket ready for Thursday kickoff

PHUKET, 11 Nov 2014 (NNT) - All of the athletes from the 45 participating countries in the 4th Asian Beach Games have already arrived in Phuket, Thailand, starting their training as the 4th Asian Beach Games will officially kick off on November 14th.

One of the teams is the Qatari beach football team which was seen commencing its first practice session yesterday at Saphanhin Stadium, one of the actual competing venues, aiming at familiarizing its players with the combat ground before their matches.

The Qatari beach soccer team will compete with Iran, Lebanon and Iraq in Path B. Thailand, on Path A, will meet Japan -2 times champion-, Bahrain -1 time champion-, and Uzbekistan. The Thai beach soccer team would meet Uzbekistan on Saturday at 4PM."

Seems as the first post was incorrect. Based on the official website Iran is in three team Group B which consists of Syria and Oman.

Iran won their first game against Syria.

Next match will be against Oman on Nov. 18th.

Iran lost the second group match against Oman 5-1.

However, as they are in a 3 team group they still progress to the Quarter finals where they will meet the hosts Thailand tomorrow.

Iran defeated the host nation Thailand today 3-1.

They progress to the semi finals where they will face UAE tomorrow.

If they make it to the finals, they will face either Vietnam or Japan.

Iran defeated UAE in the semi final match in penalty shootouts.

The score was tied at 4-4 after extra time. Iran went on to win the shoot out 3-1.

They will face Japan in the final match for the gold medal.

Does anybody know if we are playing with our main team? Boulakbashi, Ahmadzadeh, Naderi, Mesigar, Peyman Hosseini?
Can't believe that we lost to Oman with our A-team, if true it's quit embarrassing..

We won the tournament. Defeated Japan 4-2 in the final. Goals scored by Mojdeh, Naderi, Akbari and Abdollahi.
