Compared to Worldcup we pressured higher up field. We were pressuring the Korean players on their own half, which we never did in the worldcup. Not sure what there is to question about here.

That was absolutely abysmal football from both sides. Neither the Koreans nor our team could muster up decent play for more than 60 seconds.
I'm fine with our team playing defensively. It WORKS. It worked against Argentina, it worked against Nigeria, and its worked against the Koreans on countless occasions.
What I'm NOT fine with is a lackluster performance from 85% of our squad. I think there were maybe 3 complete passes in that entire game. Players were crossing when they
shouldnt be, players were crossing in horrendous ways, players were tripping over themselves. Nothing about our style of play was smooth. However, i can attribute less of this to CQ
tactics. There were players in the right spaces, and movement/positioning was disciplined. The football hadn't warmed up on any of their feet. But hey, what do you expect when our federation only
manages to organize a friendly once every winter solstice.

Korean finishing was disastrous. If we had given australia or japan such open spaces and opportunities, i promise you we'd have conceded from the get-go. But, that is a KOREAN shortcoming,
and nothing more. From the way i see things, we simply need more friendly so as to prepare more effectively.

Also, disgraceful acts on both sides for turning this friendly into a scene out of Fight Club.

Right, I just thought it would be useful to point out that Nekounam played behind other midfielders.

So yes indeed that volley against the Koreans (shame it did not go in) is the kind of play you have never seen from Iranian forwards for a long long time.

Reza Ghoochannejad is made for the starting position and even if he is subbed out in next games i hope it is after the 70th> minute.
You're right he does a tremendous job of creating danger. Remember the havoc he caused in the World Cup with the very limited half chances he was given. He's a very inventive player and as much as I like Azmoun I'm not ready for him to be dropped.

I understand a younger player who plays for a European club (though he comes off the bench most of the time which is great for his age) is an attractive look but I don't think he's ready to lead the line from the start.
              pls save us dejagah

/\ or we could switch to a two striker system and use both from the start?Gucci is a great player but he is to lonley upfront and his not a Arial threat.102 % of our attacks comes from crosses from the side. Lets Face it we where Lucky today and the last time to.

A lot of messed up things went down today but as DD alluded to before....they are the BIGGEST sore losers I have ever seen in my life.

Their coach is just as bad. All game long the ref was giving Korea so many bs calls and the one or two times he blew the whistle against his team, he blew up like an atomic bomb. Not to mention the CLEARLY CLEAN goal we scored....just ridiculous that he and his team protested the way they did. It's ridiculous and fifa should take action at this point.

                  On our teams performance:

                  - solid showing, especially considering we haven't played in 5 months. Not quite as defensive as CQ's team usually is and I really liked the counters we had going. Dejagah was a boss in the midfield today and Jahanbakhsh too. It's time for Masoud to go now, he is really wasting space on the TM roster.

                  - the thing that bothered me the most today was the insane number of stupid fouls we were committing in such dangerous areas of the pitch. It's beyond me that Reza, ando, etc. would hustle to the flank and just commit a totally unnecessary and stupid foul.

                  - I missed Sadeghi today. There were a significant amount of holes in the TM defense and I think sliding Montazeri to RB and putting Sadeghi in at CB is a no brainer. I assume CQ was just playing around with the lineup given it's a friendly.

                  - man has Reza's form dipped significantly or what? Contrary to Ashkan, who all you ppl were claiming would go down the shitter, proved the haters wrong. He is a top class player and was brought up in a top class system, he's still got it. Reza on the other hand needs to step his game up going forward.....

                  - worst performance of ando's career. He missed a great chance to score and had countless silly turnovers and couldn't run....totally opposite of what he usually brings to the table. He needs to get in shape ASAP because he's too important of a piece for TM to have slack.

                  - Ghafouri showed amazing speed on the right flank and IMO is superior to all our RBs (aside from Montazeri). I'd like to see him to continue to be given a chance. Rafie and Ebrahimi showed some nice sparks too. Azmoun just pure class as always....that hustle and hunger he showed on that goal is hard to come across in Iran. Hopefully he continues to get chances in TM.

Mashalla bacheha....a deserved win against a team that I have 0 respect for at this point. Glad we showed them who's boss!

Not to pick on you GA jaan, but this is the 3rd time today I'm reading that statement. FACT: TM has had 2 solid camps and played 3 games together in the last month or so.

If those two games were just pick-up games and you guys don't want to count them, then why all the arguments when we say they were pick-up games and didn't really matter?!

On the other hand, if they were good and necessary preparatory games against solid opponents, then why is everyone leaving them out now and suddenly all the analysis is based on the fact that TM hasn't played together for 5 months?!

I never said it didn't matter, and I do think that camp was useful obviously (better than nothing) but in comparison to SK who's played 3 very strong teams....it's minimal.

No need for huge analizes here. To make it short:
Shojaei MUST BE CROSSED out of TM.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

DD, I rarely disagree with you but saying Dejagah had 'moments of his old self' and playing in ghatar is showing in his performance is utter rubbish in my opinion, Deajagah was a complete beast, I love this players Gheiyrat and style of play so much and almost feel bad for him for having to play with such average players compared to him in our team. This guys another level all together.

I also thought Ashkan played well today, better than he did at the WC and way better than the game in Korea

                              fucking iranian circus:

We might as well use a 2 striker system if we're planning to start the useless Shojaei and start the game with a 10 man team.
