The point is that we did not play attacking football yesterday and it has become VERY rare for us to see that from TM. I'm personally okay with a nice organized counter-attacking game against stronger opponents (like Argentina), but I've seen too much reliance and emphasis on this game plan and I don't think we needed to play like that against Korea particularly in a friendly game where we should be honing all our strenghts.
I didn't watch the entire match, thus my comment is only in reference to the second half.

First of all, nice to see Dejagah is still a head and shoulder above Asia. Hope this continues. Have we had a keeper with as good a positioning as Haghighi? Maybe not since Abedzadeh have I been so comfortable with the last man. Please don't say Rahmati, because at this point, Haghighi is the clear # 1 and maybe one of the top 3 in Asia.

In terms of attacking football, again based on the second half, all I can say is when we do chose to attack, like the buildup of play leading to our goal, we can be deadly! I understand CQ is playing counterattack defence minded, but we say what happened when Iran pressured, passed well, and used strength and it's height advantage. We probably could have had a PK on the handball just moments before the goal. I guess CQ's organized back to front play might work well against Korea, Japan, and Australia, but against Jordan, Bahrain, UAE and other regional countries I really feel we could loosen the system and attack more.

Every team (even Japan) will get tired, and play will eb and flow, we should take advantage of these situations and put pressure on them, and not just sit back. I doubt any team in AC will be nearly as good as any of our WC opponents, and we should fear no one. We could win this entire thing, which would open doors for our players abroad...who knows, maybe, just maybe (please god make it happen), Dejagah and Co. can return to Europe after this AC spell.

Final note, thank you UHLsport and IFF for making fans pay $90+ for kits we may never see again! WTF is that?!
Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan

Irans Tactic Problems. What we try to play, the classic 5 3 2 1:
        2igduok.jpg

However what we end up playing
        2zsn1mo.jpg

Which is a problem as you can see because a huge gap always exists in the central area between the striker and the midfield.

i.e. no connection from midfield to forwards except for long balls, which is why it always feels like we look aimless when we attack. Since wingers have no option but to run down the wings towards corner flag and cross when they get a chance. Since striker is alone he has to be a Drogba equivalent to be able to dominate the penalty box.

Sometimes I wish we had that extra player to play a 5-3-2-1!

If you meant 4-3-2-1, that's actually a 4-3-3. It's a totally different formation than the 4-5-1 a modification of which is what we normally play under CQ.

Surely playing a classic 5-3-2-1 formation can be very useful most of the time

Got to say Its a totally diffrent game when u let go off your emotions and expectations. Seeing the game for the 3rd time i can say we did a great deffensive job a little rusty but we closed down the gaps on our own field in a very orchestrated way, the only option they had was to lift send an air ball down the side where Heydari played probably cause they knew that was our weakest spot after seeing us in the WC. Thats how they got their chances they couldnt play the ball on the ground they got stoppad at the mid line where they where forced to bezan ziresh and hope for the best. Imo we had a solid perfomance, it looked very orchestrated but with a little rust.

I seriously doubt that. There is no one as incompetent as Shojai !

Where is PerZiano? He could clearly explain to you that Shojaei was by far our best player and thank god no once cares for your girls opinions since you are all on your periods
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

I have never said Shojaei is the best player, it only sickens me to see how disrespectful people like you talk about specific TM players, when they have done more for Iran than you ever will do and ever have done..

Apart from that you should be able to accept that if CQ has faith in him, he is not as bad as portrayed.. I agree he didnt have a good game (he messed up a counter by tripping over the ball), but IMHO Heydari was the WORST on the pitch that day..

Btw, war Shojaei in irgendein Familiendrama von dir involviert ? Oder warum dein Hass und deine Besessenheit von ihm ?
