One of the biggest tragedies of our football in recent years is Karimi. He's probably the most naturally-talented Iranian player ever, but didn't ahve the professional mindset that Hashemian and Mahdavikia had. There was no reason for him to not have a 10-year career in Europe. What a damn waste. If he had gone at age 17-18...he could have easily had a park ji-sung type career

He didnt say that exactly about Raul. They asked him that question and he said something like shayad. The interview is on footballitarin for those who havent seen it yet.

Totally agree. Karimi could have developed into a world class player, but his amateur mentality prevented him from reaching that goal. Nonetheless, he was one the best players that Iran ever had.

Karami is probably the biggest disappointment of IRanian football. Arguably the best Iranian footballer post revolution made very disappointing club choices in his career including Atletico.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

That's new to me too. Even German media reported his contract was not extended due average performance.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Something was up with him back in those days (2005-07). I don't know if he was depressed or whatever, but something was definitely going on.

Remember reading an article about what Bayern players thought about Karimi, and Schweinsteiger said he was alone most of the time and isolated himself from the team. I definitely remember reading something like that.

Anyways, although Ali had his ups and downs in his career, he is still a legend in my eyes. I'm also glad he is the assistant coach to Queiroz. Some people say it won't pay off in the long run, I too didn't think so at the beginning. but I believe that it will help in the long run.

You're joking right? Park ji sung has one of the best careers of any Asian player, have you even looked at it?

                              i agree.

Loved the scenes at the sideline. Watching him showing passion along with CQ for TM is great.
