Honestly it sounds a lot like the guy didn't even watch the game and simply paraphrased a few posts from the comments section at Big Soccer! Because we certainly did not grassroll and were not pinned back for most of the match. He also seems to subscribe to the Playstation football theory of Attack Very Good Counterattack Very Bad. He would have loved us when the genius Mayelikohan was in charge. Nothing but free-flowing attacking for 90 minutes. And by free-flowing I mean clueless defending combined with attacking like a chicken with its head cut off.

                "our league sucks" mehdikia15, 25 NOV, 2014

our league dosen't suck. sure we lack in good stadiums, preparations and etc. but talent wise ?! our league is one of the best, if not the best in Asia.

and this counting on legionaries, this is a new thing. less than 15 years ago, we had like 2 legionaries and our team was the top side in Asia, using the talents from league, in fact, still, our best players are our league players. Dejagah messed up big time in WC, the biggest stage in world football, and our best players in WC was our defence line, Pooladi, Montazeri and Hosseini, all domestic players.

so, stop putting down our league and our home based players and TM in general. don't let some biased korean loving journalist to make you think less of TM.

whenever i say our league sucks or isnt good enough, people always bash on me. by saying our league sucks i dont mean we dont have quality players or talent! i mean, the stadiums, coaches, the people who run the league and etc.. when azmoun was in sepahan, did he ever get playing time?? even a minute? no. now he either starts or comes off the bench for kazan. jahanbakhs did play for damash here and there but still nothing like how he is getting minutes by NEC. what are league lacks, is giving playing time to our youngsters ! that is what european clubs succeed in! right now bayern is playing man city, they have a 19 year old starting in their midfield ! that would never happen for a iranian club! if we give our youngsters time, it will help make our clubs worth watching and give us more youngsters in TM.

I think the author's Korean wife probably just threatened threatened to withhold sex from him unless he wrote an article explaining the 3 consecutive defeats Korea has been dealt by us.

going to step in and challenge this assumption that many on PFDC make - who says we have all this "talent"? I don't buy it. If we had talent, they'd go to Bundesliga or at least have solid offers to European teams. I understand that many youngsters stay in iran because of high salaries and comfotable life, but still, if we had "talent", we would see many more actual official European offers trickling into Iran.

Bundesliga teams have a very good understanding of Iranian players, and we have a rich history of sending players to Bundesliga (Navidkia, Hash, Daei, Kia, Karimi, Bagheri, Azizi). So don't tell me there's no scouting.

I think the fact is that our players don't receive high-level training until they're 18-19, which is way too late. You can't develop into a full world-level footballer when you're playing on dirt until you're 16.

This also explains why most of our "up and coming" talents tend to be around 22-23. In countries with good infrastructure that title normally applies to teenagers.

exactly! it's why, with the excpetion of mahdavikia and jahanbakhsh, ALL of our legionnaires go to europe in their mid-20s or even later!

exactlyyyy!!! its not like jahanbakhsh, azmoun, ezatolahi, and taha zareie are all under 21 and have moved to europe in only the passed year. Not to mention players like hazami and hajsafi who would be in europe right now if it werent for non footballing reasons. Ipl has no talent Somalian 6th division > Ipl
