This article just shows how little he actually knows. He makes it seem as iran was dominated and could do nothing but stay back but says nothing about that being queiroz's tactic for a while now...
sports journalist tend to forget the multitudes of injustice Iran experienced in AFC, the outrageous time wasting tactics of Bahrain, the bihind the door bribing by Saudis and the pathetic grouping of AFC officials to deliberately rob IRan of anyt qualification and yet no sports writer ever utters a word, but one goal that IMO was legit and fair( if any thing the Korean was the one who fouled Azmoun!) has been called a dud!

At the U17 World Cup we tied Argentina 1-1 and were the better side.
We played decent football and were stopped by the controversial Nigerians who eventually won the tournament.
In other words, we have the raw talent, but two factors come into my mind why our talents are not harvested properly:
1 - Sociopolitical factors have contributed to the lack of investment in Iranian talent from foreign countries.
2 - Our own players and their agents who so far unfortunately have chosen the path of money (Arab countries) rather than development (Europe).
3 - The domestic coaches are too afraid to think outside the box and are very conservative. They rarely experiment with younger players.
However on the bright side the "new" generation are fortunately intelligent and try to go to Europe like Azmoun, Haghighi, Jahanbakhsh, Ezzatollahi, Taha etc etc..
The best part is that they are not exile-Iranian and will not have cultural and language barriers ahead of them, like Davari and Beitashour, when playing for TM.

Obviously bias and totally blind analysis. The way I saw the game it was CQ's tactics that made Koreans suffer the entire game and their total frustration came out at the end of the game. Yes CQ allow Korean to play and have fun passing and running around and feel good but they were not allowed to dominate around 18 yards. CQ tactics resulting in Korean frustration make them rush the ball and not on target.

Haj Safi deserved to be in Europe when he was already 18 years old, i call it great injustice and political bias that this great young man is still playing in ipl, Spain would suit Haj Safi best, a club like Valencia or Sevilla are at his level and i'm not joking. I hope Ezatollahi developes his football we need a player like Bagheri in TM again and he reminds me of the General. I see Haj Safi and Ezatollahi running the show at the heart of our midfield.

There is one korean sriker ji dong won who scored 8 goals in 54 appearances in mediocre european teams and now he is playing for borussia dortmund...
There are a million factors involved that are NOT directly (or some even indirectly) related to the actual QUALITY of the player.
First and foremost is FINANCIAL factors for the club.
If a European club spends some amount of money and buys a Japanese, korean, or more lucratively, a Chinese player(who are even cheaper than the former two), they get entry to a 1.4 billion population merchandizing market. Imagine the sale and franchise of their club merchandise, FOR ONE YEAR only, itself will pay for the hiring of that player.
Pretty much the same thing for korean, Japanese, ... markets. Basically east Asian market provides perfect sense for any club (outside the super duper rich clubs) to think about these venues.
But Iran does NOT provide such a market. Neither are we open, like those countries. And thenfact that we don't even adhere to copy rights laws makes it idiotic for clubs to think about earnings in Iran.
Besides, the media attention that the east Asians receive is 100's of tomes more than what our IPL receives. Which makes its exposure extremely limited to the outsiders.
I doubt anyone thinks a large majority of the Asian players playing in Europe are any better or superior to many of our Iranian ones. But political, financial, ... issues create this difference.
