Ironically, a game which we all had written Team Melli off for...thinking they would lose with at least 3-0 and shitting our pants about after the World Cup draw turned out to be our very best game we have seen in years of TM.

This game should have put us in the R16 for the first time of history. We will come back stronger and smash the Argentinians when time is right.

We need to have confidence in our team. Stop with thinking low of our players, they have shown to be able to compete at highest stage. If Iran could beat Argentina, one is simply stupid to think the Bosnia loss was deserved. We deserve better, we should hope and wish for better. Have confidence, even in our IPL players.

Not only 21st of June 1998, but also 21st of June 2014 is a day a TM fan won't forget that easily. They defended like lions in the first half and almost brought it home in the second half. After the header of Dejagah, I have to say I couldn't recognize Team Melli anymore, they were just outstanding that day and totally different than in the WCQ and friendlies.
But we should not focus on the game all the time, forget the past and look forward to the AC and WCQ (something Iranians need to learn in general)
I have to say, that as a Barca and Messi fan, I still can't forgive him for that goal even if he gets Barcelona all possible titles for the next 10 years, it was just too painful

I'm agree, also I prefer the 2 win with South Korea in this qualification, the game with Australia is only storic not more, my Top 5 is:

I also like the friendly game with Russia, Iran play very well and in 90 minutes, and not have first coach. The last win with Lebanon they show a great performace, with Uzbekistan is a great win in last minute, but not play good. Before I can remember how Iran play well in friendly match with Bosnia and Ghana for exemple. Now with CQ I not like the games in Austria camp.

ppl forget that we played other crucial WC qualifications vs Australia.

- WCQ1974 we did not qualify and lost our crucial qualification to Australia.
- WCQ1978 we qualified and won our crucial qualification vs Australia.
- and of course WCQ1998 we qualified and won our crucial qaulification vs Australia.

neither the Australian media nor Iranian media ever talk about WCQ74 and WCQ78 and its always about WCQ98... but fact is we had three decisive WCQ encounters with them.... its should be regarded as a classic rivalary (with better attitude than the S.Koreans...)
