I did, since we started playing friendlies against club's B teams as preparation.

Club friendlies are one thing, but playing their reserves is bloody ridiculous.

Spending so much money and time in traveling all the way to goddamn South Africa playing some goozoo teams? IMO, this is unacceptable. Ridim!

Glad you're finally coming around on this issue bro. The whole thing looked stupid from the start.

The question is "WHY"? Is it because they don't wanna drop in goozo fifa rankings? Is it because no one really wanna play us? Or is it the usual retarded mismanagement we see from the IR? Is it lack of funds?

It's a combination of mismanagement from IFF and CQ IMHO.

CQ has repeatedly said that he doesn't want high quality international friendlies (he wasn't even happy about the Korea game) - that leaves IFF having to deal with shady and corrupt 3rd rate federations like themselves.

To top things off, IFF is usually trying to arrange these friendlies weeks, not months ahead of time - whether that's when CQ submits his request for a friendly or people at IFF are slow, I don't really know, but I suspect it's the former, 'cause not once have I heard CQ come and say I requested such and such friendly months ago but IFF couldn't arrange it.

For example, the S. Korea and Sweden friendlies were arranged with 1st rate federations and months in advance, there was no issue with the 1st and I highly doubt there will be any issues with the 2nd. The Iraq and Palestine friendlies were also arranged well ahead of time and even though we're not talking about 1st rate federations, they seem to be going ahead with no problems.

What's interesting is that in almost all of these cases, the request for a friendly came from the other federation or other groups, rather than being initiated by CQ. But what's even more interesting is that CQ puts down our preparations every chance that he gets and I'm sure he would use that as the biggest excuse if we don't succeed at the Asian Cup.

Don't forget, under his reign even Portugal didn't play decent friendlies after losing 6-2 to Brazil in their 1st friendly under his management. Instead, they opted to play teams like Finland, Estonia, Lichtenstein (real European powerhouses ), China (the Asian powerhouse ), Cape Verde, South Africa, Cameroon and Mozambique, which were still real shitty opponents compared to Portugal.

Needless to say they failed to score a single goal at the 2010 WC (other than against N. Korea) and then in Euro qualifying barely managed to get a point from Cyprus at home (getting scored on 4 times in the process) and lost to Norway (again two European powerhouses ) before he got sacked. You don't prepare well, you're not going anywhere - that's just how it goes in life.

CQ and IFF have got our numbers. He knows the whole Iranian support flips as soon as we loose a match - and playing no name reserve teams takes the pressure off. Although this may be an advantage in mental preparedness, it deprives us, the fan, from the most basic reason why TM exists. That is the shear fun and excitement of real completion. And add to that the competition we can actually watch on TV. So in summary: IT REALLY SUCKS!

And please let's not bring up the sanctions or that none wants to play us. NK and Iraq get more friendlies than we do.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary
