CQ does not care about the national team is classier than playing against any clubs. He also does not want good friendly matches. Why? Because he wants IFF have money for his salary.
Everyone needs to relax. The reason behind these friendlies is just to put our players to the test, and see who will be selected to go to the Asian cup. I couldn't give a crap if we lost 8-0 (although embarrassing), the whole point of inviting the local clubs to play is just to give some kind of opposition to our players, and to bring some tactics from the training grounds into a match.
We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

CQ and IFF have got our numbers. He knows the whole Iranian support flips as soon as we loose a match - and playing no name reserve teams takes the pressure off. Although this may be an advantage in mental preparedness, it deprives us, the fan, from the most basic reason why TM exists. That is the shear fun and excitement of real completion. And add to that the competition we can actually watch on TV. So in summary: IT REALLY SUCKS!
And please let's not bring up the sanctions or that none wants to play us. NK and Iraq get more friendlies than we do.
again, the TM coach's job is to prepare the team ..... it's not to provide entertainment. If his goal was entertainment, he would be called a fan

You do know that most of the players that played yesterday won't even get some minutes to play in the Asian Cup? Would you think it would be a better idea to play against some random African national teams such as Mauretania or Swaziland??
South African league is one of Africa's best leagues and they have World Cup experience. Even if it's their second team, it's still a good test for our newbies to get prepared for Australia and get used to the climate conditions
Carlos Queiroz is by far the best and most professional coach of Asia and he knows what to do!
^^^ although I am fully aware of Carlos Queiroz's coaching pedigree, I do however believe he's is not 'by far' the best manager in Asia, but on par with Japan's coach Aguirre in terms of experience as a coach.

the fact that we have anything "on par" with the Japanese football federation is a miracle in itself

Yes, but even if you have a golden egg and cant cash it in then all you have is just a paper weight. We may have a decent coach, but the preparation against African club reserve teams as well as his insistence on such preparation leaves me begging for any crappy coach but with some half decent friendlies. A warm up against Fiji Islands at this point would satisfy me!

Amen brother...so why even have this camp? Looks like most of the "starters" won't even get a single minute of preparation against a decent opposition. So when Dejagah and Gucci have only played in Arab leagues...this leaves me wondering about our overall preparation. Didn't Palestine play Uzbekistan...I am sure Uzbekistan would have taken Iran over Palestine any day...for f's sakes, what are we doing here besides pissing money we don't have down the toilet?
