In fact these games in South Africa probably help the few players who will eventually make the squad better to prepare for our group opposition than all of our previous matches in 2015, because we certainly have to dominate the proceedings and have a possession oriented game against them - in opposite to the tactics we used at World Cup and against South Korea.
I don't think we can play like that vs. Qatar, UAE and Bahrain.

Knowing that we only have three to four starters available and assuming our players are handicapped due to very physical training at this stage of preparations, such low-level sparring partners might well be a good choice for training certain tactical variants.
Argentina 1-0 Iran...Argentina went to the finals, Iran out at group stage. Do you really believe the closeness of the score suggests that Iran was just as good or challenging enough for Argentina? Score means nothing, as teams may let up, may play harder, may want to demolish an opposition or just conserve energy. The circumstances of these friendlies, and the scoreline is more indicative that these were not very competitive matches...not much more than that. Why they were not competitive, well only CQ and those involved with these matches will know.

I guess the rumors of TM practices and games happening behind closed doors are highly exaggerated?!

Highlights without showing a single goal....Dafuq is this?!
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Who said anything about games? We were talking about training. You are really grasping at straws now.

CQ doesn't let journalists/media stay for the whole training (at least right now), it is as simple as that. That doesn't mean that the only people in the stadium are 23 players and a coach. I am sure there are other people there, and I am sure one of them has a mobile phone that he can function half decently.

Same in Austria, he threatened to quit the session if someone dares to enter the pitch and didn't allow IRIB reporter to film anything, only fans were allowed to do that

I think he just wants the best for our team and us fans so I can accept that
