Very interesting list. For all the fanatics screaming for the inclusion of youth, there's certainly no shortage in this list.

My hunch is that CQ has kept the final two spots open for Pouladi and Rafiei. He will probably try to get their issues sorted before the team leaves for Australia. If not, he'll call up two others. Again, this is just speculation on my part.

i agree i was going to say that. I cant think of any other reason why 2 spots would be left open. With montazeri out pooladi would be big but no government official cares about tm or queiroz so unfortunately i doubt it happens.

Again, the core is what is the most important and that hasn't changed.

Starting line up: Haghighi, Hajsafi, Hosseini, Sadeghi, Ghafouri, Ando, Neko, Dejagah, Shojaei, Jahanbaksh, Gucci.


Expect Sardar to fight for the ST spot with Gucci and Beikzadeh to fight for the RB spot with Ghafouri. Other than that, the rest of the players are there for experience and "fillers".

I was going to say that with CQ you can expect anything...i.e he might move Hajsafi to LM and keep Beikzadeh as LB...which would move Shojaei to CAM and bench Jahanbaksh.

However, with the form that JB is in...it is very likely that he will start with shojaei,dejagah and gucci upfront.

Ahmadi, Nouri, Mobali, Khalatbari, etc are all above 30 and I'd rather give the opportunity to folks like Sardar, Vouria, Ghanchi to gain more experience for the future.

Anything less than a Semi-final spot is a disappointment and we should also use this as a preparation for the World Cup qualifiers..

Shojaei still in the list is a disgrace and a clear middlefinger to those who support tm.

Is he good enough to be in the starting eleven? Hell no specially with so many neutral (at best)/mediocre performance with tm since two years. And specially now playing in an anonymous club of gutter

Can he sit in the bench (instead of a young hungry player)? No

What can he bring so? Experience? Experience of what? Of loosing the ball, walking and hiding on the pitch?

Honesty I just dont understand why Sharifi is not in this list.. that's it. Remove Heydari and put Sharifi in (or even Ansarifard) but KEEP Sharifi.

I miss mobali, khalatbari and a more experiencec central defender fe khalilzadeh. Other than that it's the best list. I wish them the best of luck, we should at least make it to the semi finals! Winning the cup is a different matter, i think we have a small chance, because we lack creative players, we would've had a better chance with mobali and khalatbari.
