Who would you give the last 2 TM spots to?

CQ left out two spots for some reason and will make his decision later on probably in the next several days. K. Nader pointed out in the other thread it could be a stall to sort out Pooladi and rafiei's issues which I could very well see being the case.

But theories aside, who are the other two players not on the list you'd want on the list?

If issues will be fixed then pooladi and rafiei
If not then sharifi and nouri (so shojaei has a replacement if he screws up)

Sharifi and Hassanzadeh are long shots in my opinion. CQ already has the strike force he wants in Gucci, Azmoun, and Ansarifard.

Again, I stand by my theory that Pouladi and Rafiei are the top picks. Rafiei in particular has been invited to every camp since the World Cup and even featured in the South Korea friendly. When he was unable to accompany the team to South Africa, CQ explicitly said that Rafiei is 'in my plans'.

As for Pouladi, his inclusion allows Hajsafi to return to the midfield where he can really shine.

We leave for Australia on the 29th I believe. That gives the Federation three days to sort out this issue.

I have a good feeling it will be khanzadeh and Nouri in the end as I don't see there being a good ending to Pooladi and Rafiei's situations. We all know CQ likes both these players so I'd be willing to bet that these two are the more than likely candidates.

Who I would like to see: Sharifi and Rafiei. Both have a very bright future with TM and will be an integral part of TM in the WCQs, they really need this AC experience.

Pouladi and Rafiei if their situations get resolved, if not, i think we are truly lacking in playmakers and Nouri would be invited by default in my opinion. Although inconsistent, he can shine and he may fit well tactic wise in some games.

Nouri & Pouladi, I don't need to explain Pouladi, but I think Nouri will be needed in this tournament, tactically he is one of the best players in Iran and he could be crucial as a sub late in the knockout rounds if we have the lead and we are trying to control the game

I would have to say Khanzadeh & Mobali. Khanzadeh has been chosen for the final WC squad but never played and was not included on the final list due to no injured players, but due to Heidari's & Montazari's situation, my best bet would be on him to be included on the list. Besides the obvious, CQ often looks at players who can offer a lot on the pitch like being a utility player such as Hajsafi, comparing him Khanzadeh wouldn't be quite accurate because Khanzadeh can only play two positions (side and center defender), but his height and some international experience (<23 levels) can help in the process. Mobali on the other hand is a utility player. He is famously known for his driven free-kicks and corners, but he can serve as a great replacement for Ando or Nekounam if either get injured in the AFC Asian Cup. With 60 caps already, he is capable of having a pretty good experience as a national team player, plus being in the first placed team of the country as a utility player can also have its perks. His experience of playing in 4 different UAE clubs can also help in dominating our Arab counterparts and help us progress against any common foes that stand in our way. I really wish that Beitashour or Pooladi could replace Khanzadeh, but it's all politics I guess.

those 2 are are my realistic choices as well and i agree to everything said here but the Beitashour part..!!

Pooladi is +90% out of the AC, mullahs wanna make an example of him for avoiding service and running away to kharej, i don't think CQ will be able to bail his ass..!!
if i thought there was any significant chance of him getting by w/o sarbazi i woulda certainly chose him..!! besides its been like 6months since WC, who knows what shape for form is he in currently..? i haven't heard of him much in gutter either..!!?
i don't know much about Rafie kid, i haven't seen enough of him, but he looked a pretty decent player..!? and with both Azmoun and Reza in squad, Sharifi becomes another expendable choice..!

Mobali and Khalatbari. I have to add that i would drop Shojaei for Khanzadeh.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but we already have two left backs (Beik and Haj) and three right backs (Heydari, Ghafouri, Rezaian). Since we don't need that many LB's, if Pouladi's situation is resolved, Haj will move into the LAM role hopefully competing with Shojaei rather than Dejagah who will hopefully play as a CAM.

So who's the back-up for our central defenders right now? The uncapped Pouraliganji is the backup for two of our most experienced players? And whose the backup for our two other most experienced players Ando and Nekou, Ebrahimi?

Don't we look a little inexperienced and/or vulnerable in the center at the back if there are any injuries or yellow/red card issues and shouldn't we be taking an experienced player for that role rather than another attacking midfielder or striker?
