Since we don't need that many LB's, if Pouladi's situation is resolved, Haj will move into the LAM role hopefully competing with Shojaei rather than Dejagah who will hopefully play as a CAM.

So who's the back-up for our central defenders right now? The uncapped Pouraliganji is the backup for two of our most experienced players? And whose the backup for our two other most experienced players Ando and Nekou, Ebrahimi?

Don't we look a little inexperienced and/or vulnerable in the center at the back if there are any injuries or yellow/red card issues and shouldn't we be taking an experienced player for that role rather than another attacking midfielder or striker?
What are the alternatives you'd suggest?

We don't have any experienced CB's other than Montazeri, Hosseini, and Sadeghi. The only experienced back up for Nekounam or Ando is Reza Haghighi who is injured and has been in awful form for a while now whereas Ebrahimi has been tearing it up in the IPL for years now, successful in the ACL too.

Plus isn't the CQ critics mostly blaming him for not paying attention to enough of our youth? Wasn't that a condition the federation put before him when he re-signed.

Reality is we are in a transitional phase right now. Guys like ebrahimi, Azmoun, pouraliganji, ghafouri, rezaeian, etc. Will all likely take on starting roles following the AC and are being given this opportunity to gain the experience for the coming years.

I wish I was little bit more knowledgeable about IPL players GA jaan, but even looking at CQ's recent lists, I think I would be inclined to take Khanzadeh or Alenemeh.

I'm all about youth and giving our youngsters a chance to shine, but I definitely wouldn't be comfortable doing that in the quarter-final match of a major tournament where Hosseini or Sadehgi may be suspended or injured - particularly with an uncapped player.

Even the two that I named wouldn't be ideal in that situation, but at least they pack a little bit of international experience under their belts.

I disagree a lot with some of CQ's philosophies but his squad selection has been smart recently. Yes some guys are 0 cappers however when you look at players like Pouraliganji, you will see exactly what CQ likes to see in a player; even though he is only 22, he is extremely mature and professional/disciplined, hard working, very intelligent on the field and does the job. You can pretty much say the same about every new faces that are included in the final list of players going to Australia.

I don't think we need to worry about our bench players, they will do the job if the opportunity arises and I see more positive outcome than negatives.

I don't have any doubt about their abilities Zandi joon, I'm just worried about the stage fright factor. Remember what happened to Azmoun in his 1st TM game? And that was just a friendly with a couple of thousand fans watching.

Playing for TM for the first time in a major international tournament and in front of 85,000 fans has got to be an intimidating and nerve wrecking experience. I know if that was me I'd be shitting myself - lol

Khanzadeh I could understand, but why Alenemeh? He is very inexperienced for someone his age and therefore doesn't offer any extra/valuable experience and isn't an asset to the future.

IMO we will likely see khanzadeh make the cut as I don't see there being a happy ending to both Montazeri and pooladi's case. We will have to wait and see but as I said, IMO it's very very likely he will make the cut.

I would say Nouri and Pooladi.
Nouri has the experience and can do what many others lack. He is slightly like Navidkia in his role. His current team is poor but he is intelligent and can blend quickly with the rest.

Although I do not believe in forgiving pooladi but at this crucial time for the sake of Winning the Asian cup we must forgive him.
                1. He is too young and has made a mistake and he probably regrets it and he needs help to get back.
                2. we have people who say khodavande bakhshandeh mehrabaan so they should follow and practice this in football as well
                3. we had pilots who had left in 1979 and as soon as the evil saddam attacked, they came and volunteered to defend the innocent people of Iran and some lost their lives
                4. This is a special case and we can have an order from the president to forgive him and let him play for TM in 2015 and then worry about his future later.
                5. He is the only defender who can play his role well besides Hosseini so let him play and think how you will feel if Qatar wins a match with foreigners while we rejected a young but lost ham mihan who could have made a difference. So CQ not forgiving Aghili and dowlat not forgiving Pooladi may bring about undesirable results for TM.

It looks like they're scrambling to resolve Pouladi's situation and Rafei is definitely out. Pouladi and Khanzedeh looking like the most likely candidates? Has Khanzadeh ever played as a DM for club or TM or are we still a bit iffy on replacements for Ando/Nekou?
