It's not even an 'anti CQ camp'. It's 'children with playstations'.
Wow, see, at least we have something in common!

I'd say that the level of intelligence of my post is on par with some of those supporting Carlos's words, so it's fair in my eyes.

On that note, the people who are making the case for mind games are the ones who either didn't read the interview, didn't understand the context or simply are not thinking things through.
Aside from talking about eggs, omelettes, orchestras and Vingada , CQ is telling the fans in very certain terms that Iran does not have a good chance of making it out of the group because of the state of affairs in our country and football, and our preparations versus those of the other teams in the group.
Assuming that's a fair assessment, he's stating his honest opinion, isn't he? So how do mind games come into this?

The Bierhoff example had plenty of relevance as it was about the general manager of a tournament-favorite saying they had no chance. This was brought up repeatedly leading up to the World Cup and Loew never publicly disagreed with it, giving the impression that he shared that view. If CQ had made a comment like this about our chances a year before the Asian Cup you would have said "See? he doesn't even know what the conditions are going to be a year from now but he's already demoralizing the team and acting like we have no chance! How are we supposed to do well when he's bashing the team before the camps even start?? I told you he's a coward!!"
And I'm not sure if you want to talk about things being taken out of context. Because then we could talk about CQ being accused of causing the Palestine cancellation by not being there to greet them personally! Or we could talk about how you guys have been going with this idea that CQ is a chicken because he didn't want to play against South Korea, when in fact the very same news article that started this nonsense mentioned that CQ had asked for Australia instead of South Korea! You completely ignored his request for Australia and went ahead with the notion that he didn't want Korea because he's just a coward and too scared of big teams. Practically every news story has been twisted around or selectively quoted to fit this narrative. And it's really starting to get old.

Those who think Jogo Bonito is our signature and that UAE is shit and we've always rolled over them with our own coaches probably weren't following team melli during the 2010 WCQ, when under Daei we actually got outplayed by them home and away. They came to Tehran and controlled large stretches of the match, and in two games in UAE we were thoroughly dominated and got one lucky win with an early goal and one lucky draw with a late goal. I never thought I'd see the day we'd need our goalie to channel Buffon just to save our ass against UAE! Just watch how they ripped our defense to shreds over and over. We didn't even force their keeper to make a save till the 75th minute! This was reality under an Iranian coach during the 2010 WCQ.
Ghotbi did better against UAE at the Asian Cup but then parked the bus for 120 minutes against a Korean team he claimed to know like the back of his hand. And Koreans still created more chances against us than Argentina and Nigeria managed at the World Cup. Compare the highlights of this game with our match against Argentina and tell me which team dominated us more.
Once CQ is gone, this is the reality that awaits us. It's extremely unlikely we'll get another world class coach. It'll either be someone like Faraki, Daei or GN, or at best it'll be Mansourian or Golmohammadi. And as good as those two are in Iran, we already know success in IPL doesn't necessarily translate to success against foreign coaches at continental level.

I can't speak for others, but I got it and didn't want to respond because the context actually makes the comments look more inappropriate and if anything, it supports the argument that these are not at all mind games rather CQ's fair assessment of Iran's chances in the tournament.

It just seems that you all are just disagreeing with other people and this has nothing to do with CQ.راه یکی است و آن راستی است
