Back in 90s, right after the USSR collapse, we had our own Central Asian Cup with 5 countries participating. It was held in Kazakhstan if I'm not mistaken. And referees at the tournament did all they could to guarantee the 1st place for Kazakhstan. It was all prophetic and predicted the baneful future of CA Cup. Since then on Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan NTs never played a single match against each other.

Iran might not be a former-Soviet Central Asian republic but geographically Iran is both West Asia as well as Central Asia.

Central Asia is Transoxiana + Turkestan + Khurasan + Altay Mts. This means Iran, Mongolia and China all can claim to be Central Asia.

In Iran there are five provinces that are in Central Asia: Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan, South Khorasan, Golestan, Semnan.
Golestan is where Sardar Azmoun is from which is home to Turkmen Sahra.

Afghanistan is considered to be both South Asia and Central Asia.

You're welcome. I think the majority of this forum and Iranians side with Uzbekistan after what happened in Ulsan last year. Actually we would like to have you qualified for the World Cup 2014 instead of the classless Koreans. I really hope you make it next time around.

Uzbekistan is great. As an Iranian, football aside, When I think of that country I think of Samarghand and Bukhara, two cities so loved by Persian poets, two cities which were a huge part of Persian culture. I wish them all the best as well.

CAFF is part of the AFC, so forget about UEFA countries in there. At least permanently, but maybe they could frequently take part in tournaments.

Agreed. Plus, if the wealthy WAFF countries and Persian Gulf nations can only host regional events with all of their wealth, what's the likelihood we can get UEFA teams to join a CAFF event with all of our financial problems. The plus side is, the CAFF countries shouldn't have travel and accommodation issues in order to set up tournaments and friendlies with themselves. These will likely cost much less than traveling half way across Asia or Europe.

OK folks, Head Quarters is in Tashkent, therefore President is from Uzbekistan. Although good news is that Kafashian is now a VP in AFC representing this new zone.

It's a two way street. I will take any of these countries (including Turkey, Arminia, and Azerbaijan) over ay of the Arab team. The only exception is Iraq. I wished Iraq was part of this group. They are closer to us than the rest of the Arabs both in style and culture.

Also maybe many dont know this but Iraq's relations with PERSIAN Gulf Arab countries is very shit.. especially with Saudi, there hasnt been a Saudi embassy in baghdad since 1991.

We should focus on advertising for this new federation... I am sure with Uzbakistan and Iran being there, they would at least give one qualification slot to this federation ...
Now, we have to find the means and strategies to convince IFF or attempting to facilitate such dream ...

I suggest two immediate actions:

1- Contacting our Central Asian brothers and sisters with full respect and ask them to join a common forum. Uzbeks are far more discriminated in AFC and they like the idea.

2- Mass e-mailing the IFF to show how the fan would like to separate from AFC...

If we let this cool off, in no time, we reach 2019 and we will see another corrupted referee ending our chances in Asian Cup (even if it is in Iran. It will be in UAE anyways; there for sure they decapitate our team).

Also, Saeed Naro jaan and others; the whole point is to focus on the Central Asia. Let us not bring others in this picture; countries like Pakistan and Russia are not and cannot be part of this federation. This is not to have more games.

We have to see what our main goal is:

MAIN GOAL: TO EXIT AFC; not participate in joke tournament of AFC cup of nations AND FORM A NEW FEDERATION .....

To get to this goal, we should contact and reach for countries in the same region...

These are Central Asian countries that are not part of UEFA:

1- Iran 2- Uzbekistan 3- Afghanistan 4- Turkmenistan 5- Kyrgyzstan 6- Tajikistan 7- Mongolia (can be debated- can be invited)

One thing that is a no no no to these nations: No Arab countries. All mentioned countries except Mongolia are Iranic Turkic countries and have similar cultures.

Countries like Armenia, Kazakhstan, Georgia. Azerbaijan and .. are part of UEFA and do not join CCAF federation. We can leave it as a voluntary nomination for these countries. But any country outside of this diagram will open the same POO hole which makes it a AFC's target...

With one country to join, there will be 8 teams that can fight for 4 semis and 1 team to qualify directly to the world cup.... And of course there will be Central Asian Cup of nations every for years

And Iraq is the only exception: With the country being divided to two parts; of course Kurdistan and the new Iraq can participate.

Kurdistan is another Iranic region and is Central Asian...

However, till then, I think we should focus on the main 6 non UEFA Central Asian countries ...
