Australians predicting Qatar and UAE going through
Lol, coming from an ARAB guy and an Aussie hoping and praying they will get Qatar or UAE in the knockout stages, I say we take their "predictions" with a grain of salt.

Iran with 1 day preparation is still better than Qatar with 100 Gulf Cup victories. They know that, we know that, but nobody wants to admit it. Iran's preparations have been shit since 1979, that hasn't stopped us from 3 world cup appearances and dominating groups in AC play in the meantime.

Really, what's new this time around other than us having a better coach and more quality players, especially defensively.

Anyone who tells me Iran is worse off now than we were in 2011 with a closed-door 1-0 victory with Angola and a tie against Qatar in the lead-up and Afshin Ghotbi coaching the likes of Gholami, Rezaei, Nouri, other Nouri, and Ansarifard being the star player... needs some help.

Doom and gloom is everywhere. We all need to be a little realistic here about how far Qatar and UAE have really come.

Community leaders have been working with the local organising committee as part of a promotion scheme, with one Melbourne individual solely contributing to the distribution of more than 3000 tickets for their opening game against Bahrain on Sunday. The Iranian diaspora in Australia is proving a patriotic and close-knit community that arranged for up to 10,000 tickets for Iran's second game against Qatar on Thursday in Sydney. The Japanese community are the third-highest take-up for tickets, with China, South Korea and Iraq close behind."

IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Seriously that 2011 team was our worst in terms of talent as far as i can remember (1997 onwards), still we made it to the quarterfinals and lost to SK only in extra time. Now 4 years later we have a world class coach and much better players, so although we had shitty preperations which we had almost always , anything less than Semi finals is a failure.

It's so frustrating to see that we are taken that lightly. And that Aussie guy with his mad love with Qatar and their naturalization procedure "Qatar is going to qualify for every World Cup from now on", even the Arab prick got surprised by this extreme idiocy.

Given our history, Australian have and will continue to have an uncanny respect and appreciation for Iran. The view of one commentator on this link, does not represent the view of Australia and Australians.

The referee for this game is going to Benjamin Williams from Australia.

The same referee that sent off the Bahraini player in the first minute of the game we beat them 6-0!!!
