I never had anything against Shojaei, but I think I realize why he's not so popular. Most successful teams have a strong attacking mid that organizes attacks and is flashy but gets things done. I think Shojaei's issue is that while he doesn't play badly, he just struggles a bit at providing that idealized attacking mid we crave.
On another note, does anyone think that Iran's attempt at attacking football was horrendous with all those stupid long over the top balls at the beginning. I'm no expert but even my u10 coach used to tell me "pass and move, and don't rush the play".
P.S: Bahrain's players didn't seem to play too dirty and seemed pretty friendly except for that one sob Ali guy playing in the middle out on the left kept on fouling and complaining. Needs to get a yellow and settle himself down.
